Horrible experience

Posted Sep 12, 2017
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by our check in representative. She was not very friendly or helpful. We were given a room that was not only dirty with a moldy bathroom, but completely outdated with double beds. After complaining I was told that this is the room I booked. I have stayed at Las Casitas 5 times before and have never seen a room this awful. The next day the GM contacted us and switched our room. He was very helpful and apologetic. He comped us a breakfast and a dinner. As much as he was helpful this had already ruined our experience. We were only staying for two nights and the one night was completely ruined.

Disappointing. We stayed at the las casitas during what they consider off season and none of the resort amenities there were opened which double commute times to do anything. They room was out of date and needed repairs. The staff was not the greatest with customer service and the food was terrible as well as very overpriced. They had the nerve to also charge us a amenities fee still of $38 a day even though we did not have any accessible to us at the casitas

I'd rather stay at nearby Conquistador Hotel

Posted Aug 29, 2017
Pros: Facilities and beautiful and relaxing landscape. Visit Isla de Palomino, which is great and nicer staff.
Cons: Food, service.
Location: Hotel is well located, with plenty of activities to do nearby (horseriding, kayaking, snorkeling, great beach, among others).
Everything to do is located at Conquistador Hotel, as well as the best restaurants. At Las Casitas, when having breakfast there were many crows disturbing guests and eating the food. Staff was delayed during the check-in process and we were not given our room until 6 PM and check-out was not flexible. I was celebrating my wedding anniversary (27 years) and I usually receive a little compliment from the hotel in these special occasions, but not this time, and that was disappointing.

Hotel is right on the beach with beautiful views

Posted Aug 27, 2017
Pros: I enjoyed that we could go from one side to the other with ease
Cons: I would improved by making some things more accessible, for example, movie rental on the premises,
Location: Location is good you can go to a few towns with ease
I had a great expericence, I did not enjoy the fact that many things were not included in the price. For example, you had to pay to play, tennis, to go to water park. I thought these types of items should be included in the price of hotel. I can understand the golf being separate but not some of the other activities. A bit pricy to take tours and no discounts were offered....

Beautiful and relaxing resort

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Location: The resort is about an hour from the San Juan airport. I recommend a rental car. There are shops about 15 min away, and El Yunque is about 20 min.
We stayed in the casitas closest to the hotel side of the property. We had a beautiful view of the ocean, marina, and private island. The one bedroom casita was spacious for a family of 4, and had a full kitchen and a nice sized balcony. From where we were located, it was a short walk to the Casitas infinity pool and restaurant, or to the hotel pools and the funicular that takes you down to the marina and water park. There are plenty of pools and hot tubs throughout the property, although several of the hot tubs were warm at best. There are two ferries that travel back and forth from the marina to the resort's private island. The private island has a nice beach with plenty of chairs, raft rentals, a restaurant and bars, mini-golf and other games, and offers horseback riding (which we found overpriced). There are towels at the private island, but they sometimes disappear quickly. My kids loved the scavenger hunt that the resort offers throughout the property and the water park located near the marina. The water park is not big, and it is expensive for what they offer. I recommend going at 4 pm, when the price is discounted. But beware, the waterslides begin to close at 5:30 even though the park is open until 6 pm. There is a butler service at Las Casitas, but it was never fully explained to us and our butler seemed to be missing in action during our visit. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and attentive, without being bothersome. We plan to return.

Nice location but disappointing stay

Posted Aug 22, 2017
We usually stay at the El Conquistador, which we love. This time we decided to stay at Las Casitas. I thought it would be a little more special than the El Conquistador. I was wrong! It was very disappointing. From the outdated and dirty room, to not getting water bottles every day, the inconvenient location, and the lack of towels at the pools... I would definitely not stay there again.

Nice resort but beware

Posted Aug 22, 2017
Pros: Great location, nice accommodations, many pools, pleasant staff.
Cons: Fix second funicular. Get rid of the greed. Add a zipline course going down the cliff to the marina.
Location: Lots to do with a rental car. Taxi's will break you. Walk to resort property line at Marina and use Uber. You'll save 200% on transportation.
This is the second time I've stayed at this resort in the past 15 years. The first time was incredible through and through. This past time though the food prices were ridiculous. Yes food at resorts is always more but they have absurd pricing. To have to pay $3.50 for a glass of milk or bottle of water, or $6 for a 10 oz beer, $14 for a mixed drink, or $16 for a cheeseburger, or $28 for a buffet breakfast is insane. Save yourself some money and rent a car, get a room with a micro-kitchen, and stock it up with food/drinks from the local Fajardo Walmart! Executive management: you should be ashamed. Your greed is hurting you.
