Hotel in need of some updates

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Cons: Disclose on the website if anything is under repair, particularly the pool and hot tub area.
Location: Location is very close to interstate and mall
As a parent traveling with kids, one of the main considerations when deciding on a hotel is the pool and hot tub. We decided on this hotel because of the price and because it looked like it had a decent pool and hot tub according to the hotel's pictures. When we arrived we learned that the hot tub was closed due to repairs. This is something that should have been disclosed on their website because if we had known this, we would have chosen a different hotel. My kids were obviously very disappointed. It is apparent that the hotel is very old which you can tell from the outside exterior, the parking lot is in need of repairs (pot holes, faded paint, and garbage in side parking lot), and the door from one of the side entrances was broken. The entrance with the broken door was also extremely dirty as were the stairs leading up to the second floor. The room itself smelled musty and the coffee pot and microwave were dirty. Very disappointing.

You get what you pay for

Bed was very hard. Got a "complimentary upgrade" - to a suite with a sliding door and window facing the indoor hallway by the conference center. Both the door and window were wide open to the hall & didn't latch. No screen/bars on the window. I had to tighten the screws of the (unfastened) stop-bar on the patio door by hand. Light shone in from the hall all night long.

Liz, It sounds like your stay was less than desirable and I do sincerely apologize for that. I will personally take my maintenance team down to the room you stayed in to see what items need addressing with the door and window. I hope we can have another opportunity to serve you again in the future.

When it comes to hotels, this one was a gem. Very clean room. Hotel lobby and staff greeted you. Restaurant in the hotel was awesome. The bar very relaxing. After a long day of traveling the whirlpool in the room was awesome. I would make it a point to go back, if I traveled through the area again.

Gross

Posted May 2, 2017
If it wouldn't have been soo late when we got to this hotel, we would have left. It was very dirty and not kept up. We slept in our clothes and left immediately in the morning without touching anything. Bathroom and living room had not been vacuumed as there was paper and things on the floor. I could go on but it was just plain gross. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!

Enjoyed our stay

Cons: The carpet
Overall the hotel looked like it needed a little renovation like new carpet, etc. Our entrance door 4 was locked and wouldn't open with a key. Staff said it is on maintenance list. The room was clean and well maintained. The hotel location was near the shopping mall and near good restaurants. Good value for what we paid.

Thank you for your feedback, Beth. We are actually currently replacing carpet throughout our public space as this is being typed. Maintenance is addressing the issues with door 4's lock. I am pleased to hear that you found your room to clean and well maintained! We appreciate your business and look forward to future visits!

Dated and dark. Needs renovation

Posted Apr 18, 2017 on Hotels
The mattresses were not comfortable. One was collapsing on one side. All made lots of noises when you moved around in bed. Springs are shot in them. Pillows were not comfortable. Minimal bedding. Pool water was murky and discolored. Furniture in room was tired and some pieces were stained. Very dark in the motel in general--has a dungeon feel to it. This used to be one of the best motels in Fargo when it was with a different brand--but that was 20-30 years ago.

Repeat guest

Posted Apr 11, 2017 on Hotels
Check-in started out badly. We waited a while without even being acknowledged. One guest signing in ahead of us and 2 people behind the desk but only one helping the earlier guest. When the other person finally asked if we "needed something" she appeared unfamiliar with checking in a prepaid reservation, so we had to wait for the other employee to finish with her guest first. (That guest seemed to be having some difficulties too.) Once we got checked in the rest of the stay was as expected: lots of towels at the pool, nice looking room, very nice breakfast assortment. 2 minor issues were that one of the cards didn't work too well on the room lock (but worked on the outside lock) and the fridge was frosted up so it didn't keep things cold. Once we defrosted the fridge it worked as it should. Perhaps the fridges could be checked as part of the routine cleaning so as to avoid this. Overall a nice place to stay with a great breakfast.
