Nice short stay

4 day visit. Very reasonable rates, compared to multiple sites in the area. Good breakfast.

Ok for price paid.

Room smelled terribly to cigarettes. It was in a non-smoking area as I requested though. I know it's hard to control whether or not guests smoke in rooms even when it's not allowed but I mean, the maid who cleaned it should have left it open for a while to ventilate it or use some kind of spray. Also, the air conditioning was not working. Only the fan, not the cooler. The rest was Ok, it was Ok for the price we paid except for the cigarette smell issue and the not working A/C.

Would not stay at this location again!

Posted Dec 25, 2016
Pros: (Continued from above) Complaint was filed. I later spoke to Anna, who lended a sympathetic ear to my situation and offered me a free nite stay.
Cons: The staff needs to be reprimanded for not informing guests about the (lack of) hot water. Tips are earned, and not an entitlement. Remove tip jar
Location: Near I-95 exit. Didn't stay long enough to visit the local attractions.
1) No hot water. I informed front desk about this, who informed me the hotel had no hot water since that morning. I told them that Darnell (the staff who handled my check in) did not inform me there was no hot water. I requested my money back, and said I will be contacting the corporate office. Front desk said she would leave a note with the manager. 2) When I went to breakfast, I saw a TIP JAR on the breakfast counter. I was disappointed by seeing this, considering I did not have running hot water. I also have NEVER been to a hotel where staff are allowed to solicit tips. 3) Housekeeping was knocking on the doors and it was approximately 9:45am. Check out wasn't until 11am. 4) I saw a roach on the bathroom floor. 5) During check out, the staff (who I later found out to be the manager) did not make ANY mention of my complaint regarding the (lack of) hot water. 6) I called Choice Hotels customer service line, and informed them of my disappointing experience. Later, the manager of the hotel called me and informed me I would not have my monies refunded, due to the following: - according to "their" information, I was informed at check in that there was no not water, but I proceeded with check in anyway (which is a complete lie) - The housekeeper was knocking on the door next to my room (which doesn't justify why they were knocking on doors BEFORE checkout). - They have had no "prior" reports of pests (so I'm lying). Not very happy

Posted Nov 28, 2016
Pros: The price was good, but it seems we've been getting what we pay for.
Cons: Cleanliness / smoke smell in a non-smoking room. managers should take care of the rooms and ensure they are clean and safe for travelers.
We stayed on the way up North and on the way back. The price was great but it seems we got what we paid for. the room on the way up smelled like smoke (it was non-smoking), the corner of the front wall by the door looked like it was wet and mildewed, the bed on the wheel frame broke when I sat on the bed. It was very disappointing as I have stayed in other Rodeway Inns and they were at least clean.

Facilities OK except for the roaches.

Posted Nov 17, 2016 on Hotels
Facilities were just OK. The front doorknob on the room was damaged and hard to work and difficult to open the door. There were roaches in the room When I checked-out I reported both of these problems to the desk clerk and all I got as a response was a blank stare. Everything else about the room and facilities were just OK. The breakfast provided appeared to be OK also, but I was a little apprehensive about the roaches observed in the room and decided to pass.

Nothing is the key

Posted Nov 12, 2016
There is nothing redeeming about this hole except the evening clerk. There is nothing here (you are literally 3.5 miles from anything else in town) , the room stinks (the smoking room next to mine was being actively used and the conjoining door had a 1in gap at the bottom, I felt like a smoked smelt), the bed was broken (I am a big man but somebody did a job on the port side of that bed cause it was buttsted down fierce), the breakfast was the consistency of styrofoam and tasted worse, you cannot adjust the temp in the "Exercise room" so it is kinda like Bikram Yoga in an outhouse, the nearby restaurant closed in the 90's. The evening clerk was polite and tried to be accommodating but that only gets you so far. The day shift check out clerk was condescending and abruptly rude.
