Working Vacation

Location: Sliders was a fun restaurant to eat at. Alvin's Island was a great place to shop for tee shirts.
My husband and I came to Amelia Island to work a shut-down at the local paper mill. Our room was very nice. The staff were very friendly. Always had cookies out when we came in. Coffee was always waiting in the morning and we had to leave before 6:00 a.m.

Pros: Staff, hands down!
Cons: Room renovations
Location: The hotel was a short walk from the Beach and a few different restaurants.
I made an unexpected trip to the Island for a funeral. It was priced in a range that made it very affordable and convenient. The staff was absolutely amazing.

Pre Irma visit

Pros: The staff!!! Location!!
Cons: Dehumidifiers
Location: Super fun place - lots to see and do.... next time we will bring our bikes!!
The staff at this hotel is amazing! Everyone was so friendly and we received great advise for touring the area.... We ended up having to evacuate because of the storm... but even then everyone was supper nice and caring.... Only complaint is the hall ways were a bit humid and musty... but this is Florida near the beach - hard to escape that!!!!! Especially in the summer!

The perfect family hotel close to the beach

Pros: The lobby employees: professional and friendly.
Cons: Would not know.
Location: Beach, restaurants, national park, historic district.
I loved everything about this hotel: quiet, friendly, clean, close to the beach in a beautiful surrounding. I truly appreciated the attention to the little guest, with a small toy every morning for breakfast. I definitely recommend it for families, the beach is only a few steps away. This is the perfect location for a family vacation

Old hotel, poorly maintained

Pros: Pleasant staff
Cons: clean and renovate the entire property.
Location: Beach, dining, historical sights
Three tries for a room that did not reek of musty mold and mildew odor. Final row assignment delayed and still a poorly maintained room with questionable house keeping.

Older but very nice, clean hotel with great staff!

Pros: Cleanliness, short walk to the beach, loaner beach stuff, super-friendly staff, clean pool, great breakfast
Location: Beach, Fort Clinch, paddle boarding, swimming, bar, restaurants, horseback riding, boat rental
We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The hotel is older, but it's very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we've had during our 10 day vacation. They had a full breakfast with a nice selection of items. We never felt rushed or hurried to eat like we did in other hotels and they always made sure items were replenished as necessary. Staff was always keeping the area tidy and were very attentive with all of the guests. The beach is only a short 3-5 minute walk and the great part was that the hotel loaned out beach chairs, towels, and toys. That was awesome!! The pool is great too! It was refreshing to swim in a nice clean pool during our stay and the best part is that it was open until 11:00pm. One of the best things about this hotel is that they have the most friendly and accommodating staff. It's something that really stood out. They were always making sure we had everything we needed and if not, just to let them know and they would try to help us out.

Close to the beach

My stay could have been better. Front desk clerk welcomed me nicely. For some reason, the toilet didn't want to flush. It smelled of vinegar in my room but air freshener fixed that. The house keepers were unprofessional. When i arrived, they were literally crawling on the hall floor playing in their phones and they were very loud, like very loud. I'm glad it was a trip to play not a trip of business.

Fernandina Beach trip (Amelia Island)

This is an older hotel, but kept up pretty well. It is very convenient to the beach, and not too far from the downtown area. Doris helped us get a first floor room we wanted, and shared area info and discounts. Pool was small, but clean, and breakfast, simple, but good (and free). Only real complaint was that dogs are allowed in the hotel, and I don't relish the idea of sleeping in a bed where a dog has been before me.
