agreeable hotel in an upsetting location

Posted Feb 4, 2016
Pros: spatious room, friendly stafff
Location: unatractive. nothing to do in the close vicinity
although it takes about 15 min walt to rach the limits of the historic city, you fill like deep in Suburbia - the neighbourhood is rather bleak, the hotel building and surroundings are rather unatractive. Nevertheless, the hotel itself is quite good. room is spatious, bathroom equipped with a wirlpool bath.

Good hotel

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Not close to city centre (20 mins on foot) but supplies bikes so this was helpful. Fairly close to rail station (15 mins). Spacious rooms and good breakfasts). Air conditioning struggled when temps soared but extra fans available. Reception staff were brilliant always helpful.

Lovely hotel

Posted Oct 5, 2014
We only stayed one night at this lovely hotel. It is outside the city walls but an easy , pleasant walk or bike ride to the centrum. The staff was very helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and well furnished. Good bathroom which included a full bathtub. Breakfast buffet which was excellent was included with the room. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Good for access to the university, ok hotel

Posted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: Short walk to the university. Quiet and comfortable
Cons: bidet plumbing discharged water all over the floor. This was not fixed during my stay
Location: Ferarra is worth exploring. Several good local restaurants.
The hotel is on the edge of town within an unassuming block of shops. It is ideal for the meetings at U. Ferrara (10 mins walk) and there are a couple of local shops (Lidl) should you need anything. The town is a bit of a hike 20-30 mins. The town is quite pretty (unfortunately it rained) and the local dishes are refreshingly different. The hotel room was fine but the bidet plumbing needed maintenance. The staff speak good English and provided many towels to mop up the mess. The hotel has a bar and breakfast room but no restaurant but there were some reasonable restaurants within walking distance, including a boat that sold pizza by the acre. There was a tv and you could get BBC news. Good internet connection but not much of a view. `The hotel was fine for my needs.

Great - when we found it

Posted Oct 28, 2012
Pros: Lovely room
Cons: Nothing
Location: Difficult to find, but once found within walking distance to attractions
Hotel was difficult to find as it is not side posted from the road and is situated over a row of shops, however once we found it we were very pleased with the hotel.

Comfortable stop-over or business hotel

Posted Sep 7, 2012
Take it for what it is - a stopover or base for business, and you'll be happy. Location lets it down but facilities good and staff very friendly. Room was suprisingly nice. This is NOT a resort hotel! 1km to old centre but we drove - a number of public carparks at reasonable prices. Ferrara itself a dissapointment for us.

Good tourist/business hotel.

Posted Feb 28, 2012
Pros: Cleanliness, friendliness. Very comfortable beds.
Cons: No problems.
Location: About a mile from Ferrara centre so a fair walk into town. Taxis to and fro are by U.K. standards very expensive.
Good tourist hotel on outskirts of Ferrara with 25 minute walk into town. Very friendly and efficient staff with excellent manager. Many top music and dance stars usually use this hotel.

Not a 4-star Hotel

Posted Jun 13, 2008
The hotel is located in an unattractive shopping centre on the edge of the town. The lobbies and rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. But the bedroom had no easy chair/arm chair, and no kettle for making tea or coffee. My room looked out over an ugly glassed-over courtyard, with a narrow balcony with no privacy. The breakfast was certainly not 4 star quality.
