Hotel does not prioritize customer service
Part of our negative experience was due to the fact that we visited during Ramadan, so this is something to keep in mind when planning a trip. While the staff and room were nice overall, we were dissatisfied with: - Lack of proper communication between U.K. manager and local manager. Before the trip, most communications are with the U.K. manager (we were not made aware about her location) but the local manager that handles the daily experience. The U.K. manager was highly responsive prior to the trip but stopped responding to any questions once we got there. Moreover, our communications with her were not relayed to the local manager which caused a disconnect in planning - Staff is not informed of the prices of their offerings. Before you reach, you are provided a booklet with prices for tour guides, airport shuttle, etc. However when we requested the local staff to book a guide they were not aware of price. While we worked it out with the guide, the airport shuttle was more frustrating because we were at the end of our trip and had run out of cash when our airport driver told us we owed him more money. We had him call the local staff who responded that it wasn't their job to know the price or to make us aware of it - We were forced to leave earlier than desired. We had an early morning flight and had requested a shuttle to allow us to maximize sleep but were made to change the time to an hour earlier (and this was relayed to us at 11pm before a 2am wakeup)

Good place to stay in heart of the medina
Short stay. I didn't see hotel staff much, but they were attentive when I did. Breakfast was lean compared to other places I went in Morocco, just bread and jam and a small egg "omelette". My room was hot at night even with the fan blasting.

Riad deep in the medina
The riad is located an approximate 5min walk through the souk from where the taxi has to drop you (the medina is pedestrian only). Staff from the riad are able to meet you and guide you to the riad, which I would suggest arranging, as the riad is tucked away without signs. There are a total of 4 rooms in the riad. We had a private bathroom but it was not attached to our room. Breakfast was served on the roof patio, the patio was lovely but the breakfast was only so-so. Staff helped take our luggage up to our room but be aware that if stairs are difficult for you, riads are not the place to stay.

Situated in a great location in the Medina
Good location, nice and modern inside - bonus is the ability to use the kitchen and fridge to store things and cook if you want.

Great location in the heart of the medina
Wonderfully restored riad with a great roofdeck overlooking the city. It is a few steps from one of the two main "streets" in the medina so is close to shopping and restaurants. The staff was not on site a lot of the time but were very helpful in answering questions and booking day trips. We had them cook us dinner one night which was delicious and well worth it. The breakfasts were big and tasty and included eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice. The stairs were steep which makes carrying your luggage tricky but that's to be expected in such an old house. We highly recommend this riad.
