Serviceable but I suspect there's better out there

Posted Jun 29, 2012
Overall this hotel was fine. Although they spoke some English I didn't feel communication was particularly easy so you might want to brush up on your French. I had a twin room which clean, fairly spacious, and air conditioned. There was a worryingly great view of the riad courtyard from the toilet and shower. Breakfast was good and they were able to provide some a pretty good dinner at very short notice when I couldn't get my bearings in the streets of Fez. I wouldn't say the location was great, the door way is along a fairly empty allyway and I was pestered for money by small children while waiting for the door to be answered, in the end by another guest. It's not in a touristy area and as a single female I would have prefered this. Service was slow, payment expected in cash and they were unable to help with a taxi. I also arranged collection at the station which didn't turn up and I had to pay for my own cab. I'm not planning to rush back but for one night it was serviceable.

Good Riad in Fes

Posted Jul 7, 2011
Riad Jamai is a lovely place to stay. The Riad is well maintained and even though we had booked the cheapest room it felt luxurious. There was a good selection of rooms, and if our room was anything to go by they were of a very high standard. The Riad had a small swimming pool, more for bathing than swimming and a spacious roof terrace with 360 views of old Fes. Breakfasts were included and were tasty and very substantial. The only drawbacks were that it was a bit tricky to find when we arrived, the Riad would do well to organise an airport collection service and have signs up near the entrance. Your also have to settle the bill in cash, which was a surprise, fortunately there was a bank ATM in walking distance.

Riad Jamai was just a fairytale ! The riad was heavenly beautiful. The staff , and especially Simon were the perfect host in an unforgettable town...In the heart of luminous Fes , don't hesitate to dive in this riad , oasis of class and friendliness...We will always remember our stay there and will get back for sure !
