We had a great stay for two nights with our son and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again when in the area. The room was perfect for our needs, everything was very clean, the staff were friendly and welcoming and we had the best breakfast we’ve had for ages. Highly recommended

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Older building with smaller rooms but ok if you have no other choice. Eggs n beans with the breakfast. Plates n utensils could be more cleaner. A lady, who was serving breakfast tables seemed more worried about everything and specially rude to kids. I was not sure if it was the nature of her work or if it was something else in her mind.

Add on booking
Booked an add on stay online which was confirmed with reception in the morning agreeing that I would keep the same room. Only to find my belongings at reception that evening as I had been removed from the room. On presentation of booking confirmation I was given another room which amazingly enough had different TV channels as I was at the other end of the corridor. Impressive if it wasn’t infuriating.

Staff were friendly and helpful but there were a few issues , which the staff rectified.. As I have difficulty with stairs I was disappointed there was no lift. The television didnt work nor did the hair dryer . After a day out we could not enter our room my daughter went down to reception and the key problem was resolved. When we booked we were advised the room would not be cleaned until we left but we could request clean towels,coffee ,tea etc which would be delivered to the room this was not the case the room was cleaned and fresh linen supplied which was excellent.

SLAM
If you like perpetual slamming doors, you'll love this place!, i know fire doors are a legal requirement, but to have them sprung loaded to maximum torque, handled by people who prefer not to sleep. is just absolutely nuts - the slamming went on until the early hours - not for me thanks

Assessable stay
Our stay was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, but our assessable room had a problem like my wife uses her wheelchair to get around the room but there was really enough room for a wheelchair user , the shower room was excellent, there was 2 chairs but one had no brakes it was a chair that with rollers could move , the other was a small corner one but was very low and my wife couldn’t get down but if she could she would struggle to stand back up, I’m writing this so u could maybe check it out and that would help another wheelchair user, however all the staff asswere excellent and very helpful , there was no drawers and very small space to hang clothes

Nice, quiet hotel. Room was a nice size and clean. The bed really wasn't great though, the mattress felt like the springs were broken with quite a few dips in it. Both my partner and I woke up all three mornings with bad backs.

functional, well situated and clean
It wouyld seem to me that this was one of your older buildings...but it was well kept internally. Rooms were clean and evening meals were just a step away in an adjacent Inn. We had a slight problem on check in which took the gloss off our stay but it was sorted out on site since the wife had kept an earlier receipt for the room

This hotel is probably one of the worst I’ve ever stayed in. Very tired and our room 117 had cobwebs and dead insects on the window ledge. Room walls are paper thin and after having our sleep disturbed twice by the inconsiderate people in the joining room with their shouting, slamming doors, banging we contacted reception twice and yet nothing was done. Think the best bit was breakfast which was a limited selection but enough. As a big group that were staying for a family funeral we were all scattered around the hotel. One family member had no hot water in their room. We managed to get a hour extension on our room which was a good thing.
