Decent location albeit a remote from centre

Posted Nov 19, 2017
Pros: Friendly staffs including the doorman.
Cons: Have refrigerator Have concierge
Location: Decent location, being a business district, there is less option of mainstream fine dining/fast food but plenty of cafes and healthy food outlets.
Stayed for 1 night as had meeting in Downtown. Come evening feels a bit isolated in quite downtown when the Midtown central New York comes alive hence a bit of a travel. Hotel OK but furnishing and upholstery seems dated/ageing. Hotel is regarded as 4 star but not to the high standards seen in Europe and Middle East. It treads on the same path as the airlines of Americas where service standards seems of somewhat different from the rest of Europe and the Middle East. Tip. Close to 2 subway stations so one need to choose carefully which one to walk as they are in two different directions. Breakfast seems to finish 15 mins before the closing time hence best to be there with good time on hand.

The room was standard, clean and staff was friendly however the elevators are a horrible. I don't have the time to wait for an elevator while staff takes up one of the three available to guests.

Thank you for making the DoubleTree by Hilton New York City - Financial District a part of your travel plans. We are happy you loved your well-maintained room and that you loved our courteous service. However, I regret the inconvenience you had with our elevator. During our peak travel times, the elevators take a little longer due to higher demand, similar to rush hour traffic. Your business is appreciated, and we look forward to hosting you back soon. Excellent location .

Posted Nov 15, 2017
A block away from battery park close to food, coffe , and a lot of things to do during the day . Very quiet and safe area at night . We walk with my wife at 1am to the pharmacy . Some bars around . I been in The area many times at night and I never got any problems there . Big disappointing is the room cleaningless , no garbage bags , coffe spills all over the night stand , and the alarm/radio clock was in pieces . Price was right and with the big surprises in other NYC hotels this one is one to recommend . Elevators tend to be a little busy at times . Parking I didn’t even bother, we took the train, taxi and Citi bikes . Left the car at home .

Good location, good room and great reception.

Posted Nov 12, 2017
Everything was as I was expecting from a Hilton Hotel. The only reason I don’t give 4 stars is because of lack of security. The elevator is on the street level and lobby on 2nd floor. Anybody can go up any of the othe floors with the rooms without a key. It’s a bit scary when you think about it. The hotel should implement the keys in the elevator to access the other floors.9

Good hotel in heart of Financial District

Posted Nov 11, 2017
Well located hotel close to financial district. Hotel is quite basic with not many facilities but good enough. It had a laundry room which was very useful and cheap to use. Room was always clean and tidy. The room was very small for 2 adults and children and had very little room to put suitcases and clothes. Staff were helpful and helped twice when we had problems with the safe. The fire alarm went off one morning at 6am and there was very little information provided which was concerning. After the situation was resolved they said we could go back to our rooms but they'd never told us to leave our rooms in the first place. Also this is a cause for major concern. They charged my card with the final payment before I checked out which was annoying. This ended up costing me £42 in exchange rate fees. THey should have checked with me before charging my card. Overall was a nice enough stay but room was small for the price.

High rise hotel with horrible elevators

Posted Nov 8, 2017
Over 20 minutes to get an elevator to get from the ground floor to checkin and another 15 minutes to go from checkin to my room. Staff and guests using the same 3 elevators. And recurred every time we left and returned to the hotel. Two positives: Linens were great and location of the hotel was great for meetings in financial district.

The smallest hotel, with the worst restaurant

Posted Nov 2, 2017
Pros: It was right in the center of the financial district and it was close to a couple subway stops.
Cons: You guys really need to renovate that place! It's old!
Location: It was right in the center of the financial district and it was close to a couple subway stops.
It was probably one of the smallest hotels I have stayed at. One of the towels had a yellow stain on it, which was disgusting. Although my room was smoke free room, the shower smelled like smoke which was gross. It is also a really old hotel and the restaurant next door, which is connected to the hotel was terrible!!!!

Nice hotel - Quiet

Posted Nov 2, 2017
Pros: Clean and helpful
Cons: The long waits for the elevator. Maybe staff could have their own elevator
Location: Subway system close. Can walk to 911 Memorial and Statue of Liberty site.
Close to Statue of Liberty site, 911 memorial, Battery Park and subway. Very friendly and helpful staff. Long waits for elevator. Suitable space for tourist who don't plan on staying in the room a lot.
