Nice location tucked away

Posted Oct 16, 2017
Loved the location! Close to the subway and attractions within walking distance. Tucked away on a side street so it was quiet.

perfect location in financial district...but

Posted Oct 15, 2017
Right near Battery park, the 911 Memorial, but the staff at the front desk were very rude and curt. The phone in the room was broken. Nobody answered, we couldn't get room service to answer. They never cleaned the room for three days. I felt the front desk staff were annoyed when I asked for service. The restaurant attached staff were lovely and the Bell staff was lovely. BUt otherwise, it is VERY cramped, tiny rooms and very slow elevator.

Excellent staff!!!

Posted Oct 8, 2017
Pros: The staff!
Cons: Nothing, fine just the way it is.
Location: Right by Battery Park, Staten Island Ferry, 9/11-World Trade Center Memorial, Wall Street & Trinity Church. Close to great restaurant - George's.
We had a lovely stay here even though it was only for one night. The hotel was nice, just that the room and hallways were very small. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However, what makes this hotel a winner is their staff - excellent! Desk staff was nice and friendly but the real stars were the bellmen. Allen was nice, friendly and helpful. But Tony is "the man"!!! We were expecting a FedEx package that was supposed to be delivered before noon on Saturday, the day we were checking out and leaving the country, and it didn't come and we were very stressed out. We went next door to pub next door to have a drink and Tony got our package and came to get us from the pub to give us our package and help us get in the car he arranged for us. Loved this guy!

Very convenience hotel near several restaurants

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Nice hotel located in the financial district in New York. This hotel is near several restaurants and shopping areas. Priced reasonably! The only problem was during peak times during the day, you will spend approx 5-10 min waiting on the elevator since there were only three and this hotel has 44 floors.

Nice Hotel

Posted Oct 1, 2017
Pros: Staff/Hotel Location/Cookie upon arrival
Cons: The elevators. (It took forever to catch one.)
Location: Within walking distance to Battery Park, and other attractions in the Financial District.
Stayed for 1 night. Purchased three rooms, all on same floor. Hotel staff was friendly. Rooms were clean, but small. Quiet location.

Thank you for choosing to stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton New York City - Financial District. We are delighted to know our location was perfect for your needs and that you were impressed with the service provided by our staff. However, we apologize that you experienced some wait times with our elevator. During peak travel times, the elevators take a little longer due to higher demand, similar to rush hour traffic. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel. Tracey Martinez, Front Office Manager

Small rooms and unhelpful front desk

Posted Sep 30, 2017
The hotel is a bit old and the rooms are very small even for NYC. Only 2 elevators servicing thousands of rooms. But the most frustrating part was how they messed up the payment - keeping thousands of dollars hostage on my card. At the end despite explaining multiple times they charged the wrong card anyway. Ah and this "gym fee" is ridiculous.

Dear Z, Thank you for reviewing your most recent stay with us. We apologize that you experienced many difficulties and we failed to meet your expectations this trip. Unfortunately, with our location being in the heart of the city our rooms are more city-sized. The billing frustrations, however, are not normally experienced and for that, we apologize. If the issues still have not been fixed please let us know as soon as possible so we can further investigate the issue to make things right. We hope we have the pleasure of accommodating you again and providing you with a better stay than your last. Sincerely, Tracey Martinez Front Office Manager

Great location in the financial district

Fantastic room and staff. The room was very clean and well stocked with towels. Elevators were a bit slow, but no worries. The Italian restaurant in house was phenomenal. AA+ all the way around.

The hotel was nice, great location. Stayed there one night but the room overall was great. The only aspect I didnt appreciate was slow elevators for a 40 floor hotel. But other than that, I had a great experience!
