Set aside an afternoon and check out Fire Museum of Texas.
It's located approximately 220 miles from the state capital, Austin. Somewhat of a journey, but well worth your time!
There are a few budget hotels nearby. Don't look further than the Candlewood Suites Beaumont or the La Quinta Inn & Suites Beaumont West for comfort and a good price.
If the hot coffee at Cafe Orleans doesn't get you ready for an afternoon at Fire Museum of Texas, the appetizing treats will. This spot is just a short stroll away. When you're feeling especially hungry, grab a table at Green Light Kitchen, another nearby establishment. When the night is truly about to end, find your way to Loft 236 and let the cocktails keep flowing.
