Wonderful old fashioned lodge

Posted Nov 11, 2017
Service, location, and the setting make Tenaya Lodge a petfect place to stay when visiting Yosemite. A short drive to the Park entrance and you are in the heart of it all. The staff at Tenaya were all helpful and extremely pleasant. The pools, spa, and gym were lovely. The on-site restsurants were good. I would rather stay here than in the park lodging.

Not a place to stay if you have pets.

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Pros: The room decor was very nice. Although their photographs for dog rooms show a lawn with chairs, we were by the side entrance door and garbage can.
Cons: When the hotel replied to my email, they should have included the $100 dog fee in their message to be more transparent.
Location: The hotel is located near Yosemite Park.
2 stars if you're staying with a pet and 4 stars if you are pet free. I contacted hotel the day I reserved to make aware I had a dog. They moved my room and sent me a link for policy. No where in their message did they disclose $100 fee (typically $20 - $25 during this trip). I'm "mobile" on a road trip and did not view the link (have to read everything on my cell phone). They do provide a dog beg, treats, poo-bag and a tennis ball... for $100, you would think that the bed must be a gift to take home for Fido. (Other hotels we have stayed at also provide pet goody bags and only charge $20-$25 for fido). The dog cannot go to restaurants and is limited where he can go in the hotel. They do offer a pet sitting service at $25 per hour...or the other option is to leave fido in the car because of course dogs are not allowed to be in the room alone. Morning of check out, we are charged $20 resort fee in addition to our pet fee - when we couldn't even fully use the resort. IMO the "resort fee" should not be charged in addition to $100 pet fee on a one night stay. We stayed here during the final game of the World Series. The game, although on a national channel, the game was not available in the room but it was available to watch in their bar...that we could not bring our dog too. With the exorbitant pet fee plus the resort fee... I can't help but feel that they blocked the game from their rooms to force guest to go to their bar.

Great resort near Yosemite

Posted Oct 27, 2017
We stayed two nights, one in a cabin and one in the main lodge. We liked the setting of the cabin out in the woods better, but the room in the lodge better, although both were nice. The lodge room was very spacious. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and all meals very very good. We used the gym which had a good assortment of machines and weights for a hotel gym. Also used the main pool which was clean and a good size for doing laps.

Comfortable hotel near Yosemite Valley

Posted Oct 23, 2017
This is a convenient hotel within a 45 minute drive of Yosemite Valley, with good facilities and friendly staff. Although there are 3 restaurants, the menu selection is fairly limited but there are many restaurants nearby (within 20 minutes) if your stay is longer than a few days and you wish to have more variety. We were happy with our experience and the room rates are competitive.

Love this slice of heaven

Posted Oct 20, 2017
Pros: Everything!
Cons: It would be nice to have a few tables in the lobby are to sit inside and plan the day.
Location: Yosemite 1 hr away from tunnel view. Bass lake small but fishing & boating. Oakhusrt 20min south for reasonable food & shopping.
From the second we set foot on the property we were treated like royalty. This place takes service to new levels. Matt at the front desk was super and the concierge services were above and beyond. They took care of every question and need we had. Food can be pricey but the food is great, service excellent and all the food in Yosemite valley is pricey. The room was spacious, bed and bedding comfortable. Typical bathroom but not a speck of dirt anywhere. Love the bath robes! the hotel is split into the east and west wing. To get to the lobby you do have to access it from the second floor and then take elevator or stairs to 1st floor for lobby and food. Pet friendly hotel, they keep it really clean. It is mostly the pet parents that forget that there are people there who do not share their enthusiasm when traveling with pets. A little disappointing that people will call their pets 'service dogs' when it is very obvious it is a pet and not a trained professional service dog. California has a law that you are not allowed to stop an inspect the validity of a service dogs tag and unfortunately pet owners take advantage of that by placing what appears to be a "tag' and a jacket that is similar to professional service dogs.

Old and noisy

Posted Oct 18, 2017
Pros: Closeness to yosemite
Cons: Sound proofing, new air system and upgraded water heaters, more light in the rooms.
Location: Yosmite
If you like to hear the baby crying, the conversation and snoring from the room next door then this is the hotel for you. Not only can you hear your neighbours use the bathroom but people in the hallway sound like they are in your room, its even worse at night. I checked twice to make sure the door was shut. The second night elephants must have been employed to run around next door as the floor moved in time to the footsteps. I am not sure what the upstairs guests were up to but it sure sounded like hippos had taken up line dancing. The smart air system was smart enough to make noise in an attempt to drown out the background noise by unsuccessfully regulating the temperature. There was just enough light to find the beds and bathroom - even in the middle of the day with the lights on you would need a torch to find stuff in your suitcase. I guess they would call this mood lighting. Tepid showers also came with our luke warm stay. To be honest it was not worth the money
