Would love to stay there forever.Posted Nov 21, 2015
Pros: The comfortable room, the great breakfast, the location and the helpful, welcoming innkeepers.
Location: Centrally located to 3 major birding locations, fairly close to the beach and Cape Point.
This was a fabulous experience. The innkeepers treat you like family and go above and beyond to make sure you know how to experience all that interests you in Cape Town. The breakfast was amble and delicious. The gardens surrounding the residence were immaculate. The property borders on a wildlife preserve so there were beautiful birds to watch. You can see the ocean in the distance from the breakfast room. Our room was well appointed and exceedingly comfortable. I recommend this bed and breakfast lodging with enthusiasm.

Lovely place, more a B & B than a hotel, but large suites with a separate sitting room, plus private outlook to the pool. Nice big pool. Staff very helpful. Very clean room, good breakfast, fabulous views to the bay. Criticisms- it's in a residential area with no restaurants within walking distance, and Makapa only do breakfast.Plumbing system a bit noisy - you know when your neighbours are up! Generally a great place to get away from it all, and only 40 minutes drive from downtown Cape Town.

This was a great place for a night. The location and setting was beautiful. A small hut in the middle wilderness gave it a very nice appearance.

I had a fantastic stay at Makapa Lodge. The room I had, called the Nest is a self catering little bungalow with an incredible view and a very private feeling to it. The other accommodation is at the main building with direct access to the pool and private patio/garden areas as well direct pool access. Ian and Margaret are just the kindest and friendliest hosts you could ask for. They have great knowledge about the local area such as Boulders beach and penguins (ask for Margaret's own drawn map for best experience) and easy access to the Cape. The drive to Cape town and the airport is easy and not too fare. The accommodation is in a nice neighborhood which feel very safe and friendly with supermarkets and petrol station nearby. I could not recommend it highly enough and will definitely return!

Cadre magnifiquePosted Oct 20, 2014 on Hotels
Très joli lieu situé à mi-chemin entre le parc du cap et le centre ville. Facilité d'accès à tous les centres d'intérêts. Sécurisé, cuisine bien équipée et commerces à proximité. La vue est magnifique.
