Loved the over water bungalow!!!

Posted May 11, 2017 on Hotels
My ONLY critique on this place was that perhaps they could paint the room ceilings with a mold resistant paint. Yea, that is all I can find ANY fault with. This said, the accommodating staff more than makes up for this silly cosmetic aspect. The staff just GREAT! They rock and show TRUE HOSPITALITY in every breath. The snorkeling in the bay is simply ideal--so much perfect blue and purple coral and fish. Seeing the spotted rays several times a day was beyond fabulous! OMG, and the moray eels are gorgeous and not a bit intimidating. To be honest, it was a real treat to see the 2 we did in the deeper water around the over the water bungalows. To this point, this was our first stay in an over the water bungalow, and I would highly recommend it to any of you other "cheapskates" (aka, like me). It was utterly awesome to feel "special" in staying in this type of lodging and the views of the ocean and to look down at the coral and fish was breathtaking. You can kayak to reef to see more rays. Great breeze, and the deck as perfect!!! There are some cats in the area, and we had one come by nightly for canned sardines we purchased at the grocery store in town en route to the hotel--really sweet, and fulfilled my need to pet a "furball", as I have 2 cats at home. I really enjoyed my stay here mostly because of the staff, ocean views, breeze, snorkeling, and getting out of my usual "cheapo" ways.

Completely Secluded

Posted May 8, 2017
Pros: Location, location, location Staff
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the coffee. Ugh.
We loved this hotel. It is completely secluded and very peaceful. To get anywhere, you need to take a four-wheel drive or boat: the perfect honeymoon location. Some reviewers have complained about the amenities but seriously, for the price, you will not find a more blissful location. The staff was friendly, food was good, and the location was A+++

If you want peace and quiet this place is it....

Posted May 8, 2017
Pros: Loved the overwater bungalow, the grounds were manicured perfectly, total isolation. Dinner chef was great.Lots of relaxation can be done here.
Cons: Transportation to town of Fare was on a rough road by 4x4,they need to pave the road or give you a boat ride to town.
Location: Enjoyed Marcs Moto tour, snorkling ,blue eyed eels, and swimming with the sharks. Jet skiing the Moto is awesome you really move on those.
Loved our 10 day stay at the Royal Huahine.Stayed in a deep overwater bungalow, views and property were amazing, water so clear it looks like you can drink it.Did a bunch of snorkling and found plenty of colorful fish around the deep overwater bungalow.Breakfast was plentiful.Dinner was top notch, great chef, but would run out of the good stuff quickly. Sunsets were so beautiful, night time sky was starfilled looking out to the milkyway. If you want to be away from it all and get internet disconnected, this is where you want to be. Total isolation. Total piece and quiet, and not a lot of guests, less than a dozen couples.Don't know if the isolation is scaring them off? This is where you want to go to get away from it all.....

Beautiful Resort - Too Remote

Posted Mar 26, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: The people who work at the resort are friendly and vey helpful.
Cons: The resort appears to be running on the bare minimum. The services and amenities do not warrant the high price per room per night.
Location: Too remote -- you need a water taxi or 4-wheel drive to get to town.
The Royal Huahine is a beautiful resort, but it is too far away from everything. We felt the remoteness of the resort on the day that we arrived -- when were asked to have dinner in our room since they were not going to open the restaurant that night. No place else to go, so we had to say yes. Since we had arrived late in the the afternoon, the hotel's request was not too inconvenient, but when we went to breakfast the next morning and were told that they had run out of eggs, bacon, and fish -- that was the beginning of the end.

Best value overwater bungalow in French Polynesia!

Posted Apr 30, 2016 on Hotels
Our stay at Royal Huahine was very relaxing. The bungalows were huge and very comfortable, with plenty of space inside and outside for chilling out. We stayed in a bungalow over deeper water so could hop off the deck straight into the sea for great snorkelling. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed meals swapping stories with the other guests.
