Nice hotel, decent size room and staff were great. Location. Was ideal for my purpose but is out of the way. Hotel dining options are limited. Breakfast was very good though. There is an Asian fusion place next door which is really good.

Staff was very help. I am not Dutch and had to make emergency phone calls. When the party I called answered in Dutch. I was in trouble till the staff desk translated for me. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. The property was very dirty, did not smell good, bathroom did not drain water properly. Breakfast buffet was extremely limited and not worth the price. The cooks never took instructions properly with the omelet. Carpets were very dirty as well. Rooms had weird odors. Booked rooms together but are charged separately at the property.

Spent most of the day out- back to the hotel room in the evenings. Room spacious, bed comfortable. Superficially clean. It’s until we removed bed sheets we noted dirty topper. Dust and mess behind bedside cabinets. Arm chair with white stains. See pictures If you look for hotel with gym on basic level: that’s the one. If you’re cross-fitter or exercise person in level expert- you might get disappointed. But 10 minutes walking distance- CrossFit and proper gym available 😀

Wouldn’t reccomend
The bald man on the reception was super rude. Very short answers and unhelpful. Not friendly at all, the rooms were barely clean the armchair in the room has white stains all over it. The aircon didn’t work so it was too hot to sleep on a night. So far from everything too which is rubbish.

Awful hotel
My stay was terrible. The room was very cold when I arrived. I complained and asked for another room and was reluctantly given one which was also cold. When I complained again the clerk said that this was not his region and there was nothing he could do. I asked if he could call his Manager and he said no he couldn’t. I asked if he could call service and he said they had all gone home. He was abrupt and had a bad attitude and I tried to explain to him that I was the one paying to stay at the hotel and the minimum I expected was a warm room. The toilet bowl was also disgusting and stained.

Always lovely staying at this hotel; this was our 3rd time. The staff are very nice, they always go out of their way to help. Room and bathroom very clean and modern.

Het personeel had onderling hele slechte communicatie het was een gedoe. Eerst hadden we gebeld met de vraag of we later konden uitchecken dat kon kostenloos tot 15:00 toen we gingen inchecken was het een ander verhaal. We kregen te horen dat we dezelfde dag moesten bellen. Wat we vervolgens deden toen werd er opeens €30 in rekening gebracht. Heel slecht dit! Dan waren de kamers ouderwets vloerbedekking niet gestofzuigd, weinig licht in de kamers, hele harde kussens, geen schone toilet (zaten gewoon remsporen in), heel erg gehorig. Ook was de receptie heel slecht bereikbaar! Kortom GEEN aanrader.

The staff were very nice but they were few. The grounds were filthy with overflowing garbage cans and ashtrays. Our first night we opted for dinner in the resturant....bad choice. Sat for a half an hour before someone came and asked if we had been served...the table was never set for us until our food 'finally' came an hour later. The only plus was our room and bedding were clean.

Lobby and bar area not cleaned or cleared. Food, bottles and trash in lobby area for three hours when I checked in, while staff chatted on cell phones. Bar area had dirty tables, covered with food and empty glasses for over 30 minutes, completely ignored by bartender and staff.

Somewhere to lay your head
Close to Almere, reception and lounge area is very dark. Breakfast was really bad. It's somewhere to lay your head. The first whole day(we had breakfast, left the hotel late morning and arrived back in the afternoon) we decided to leave first thing in the morning and returned just before dark for the remaining of our stay. It was Ok but personally wouldn't stay here again.

Had a really good time at the Bastion. Staff were very welcoming. The only negative would be there are only single beds in the hotel so my partner and I had to move the two beds together but they kept moving apart.

Room has its own refrigerator, coffee machine or kettle is allowed to be asked from reception, hair dryer. If you are lover of walking, it takes 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop. The nearest grocery store is accessible with 20 minutes by feet. However, there is a Japanese restaurant in front of the hotel. It's possible to take away food from there. The staff of the hotel is kind and friendly. They will check you in earlier, if it's possible. Oh, by the way, there is no boots cleaning machine in the hall of the hotel. It would be great to have one.

Great affordable hotel
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. This is not a luxury hotel but if you want affordable, clean, comfortable and pleasant staff then this is for you. There’s a fridge in your room and safe. Across the road is a petrol station and next room is an excellent Chinese banquet buffet restaurant. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Almere so is in a quiet location. This is our second visit here and definitely won’t be our last.

Very happy
This hotel was super cute and very comfortable. The beds were great and the bathroom was very modern. We even got a choice between bath tub and standing shower at check-in. The mural of cows in the room made my heart warm. The city Center of Almere is very cute and only about a 10 minuet drive from the hotel. Overall a very great experience at this hotel.

Good if you have a car.
No nonsense hotel. The rooms are good size and it offers breakfast and evening restaurant. The only real complaint about the hotel is it's location. If you have a car, it's not an issue. Otherwise, it's a taxi to anywhere else.

Located near a motorway and main roads. Bus stop outside the hotel was out of use, but we were able to get a bus 322 from a nearby stop to Almere Poort train station.(Don't try to walk you have to cross 2 major roads.)

Nice for a stay outside the city
Staff is super friendly, the hotel is close to the exit very easy to access. Dinner until 10pm, bar only open 'til 11.30pm (too soon in my opinion for a Saturday night). Room was overall clean (squeaky clean beds!) but some parts were dusty. It was also too cold to sleep (even with air-con off, radiator on -which didn't heat-).

Good convenient choice
Some wait at the counter until someone showed up, otherwise service was good. The Asian restaurant on the orher side of the parking lot is actually very good, and location is conveniently immediately off the highway. The room was up to par but the bathroom was amazing, really modern and well laid out. Wifi worked well, no complaints.
