When rate shopping be sure to Consider Freebies

We arrived close to midnight after a very long international trip. When we checked in the person at the desk asked for ID and a CC and proceeded to spend quite a bit of time. She kept typing and typing and then finally said she couldn't find our reservation! Why didn't she say that earlier! She told us its hard to locate reservations when they come through a third party. She went on and on. I ended up going into the business area and printing my confirmation email. Even after she had it she needed a few more minutes to locate it! I requested a room closed to the elevator to minimize any more walking. She suggested the first floor and I said fine. She handed back our id and CC and I stepped away for a moment while she was making the keys and I got back and she asked for my CC? What! You had it and gave it back to me! We finally got our keys and headed to our room - which was located ALL the way at the end of the long corridor. I selected this hotel because it was a better rate for this day than the Hampton. Well I had forgotten that there is no comp breakfast or event free coffee at this hotel. Had I taken this in to consideration I would have stayed at the Hampton.

Room was pretty generic and not very sound proof. Bed was not very comfortable and the best part of the stay there was the WiFi was free I probably wont use this place again. Not impressed at all for the name it carries!

We had a very nice stay over the weekend to catch a football game in Ann Arbor . The hotel staff was fantastic . The bed was a little too firm for us but other than that we had a nice stay.

Very nice staff - pleasant and thoughtful. Comfortable beds, healthy and tasty food available in the lobby bar.
