Great location, great stay. The owner was very curteous and helpful. Room was spacious, clean and well maintained. Really enjoyed our time here. Only note would be the mattress was a little firm for my liking, but was able to sleep fine.

An excellent property in the middle of Florence, within short walking distance to the main square and most attractions. As a solo traveller the room was great, more than fit for purpose as a base. Would definitely stay again. A huge thank you to Grazia for her communications and help over my stay.

Safe, modern, and clean room. Curtains do let light in and doors and walls allow any noise nearby to heard. Not a problem to sleep though. Great stay!

Our stay at Adelaide House was a great way to experience Florence. If you are a very picky traveler who wants the fastest Wi-Fi, perfect shower temperature, easy walk to get in, you may have complaints. For us - a young couple staying in Florence for the first time - this lodging was perfect. The location cannot be beat, the host was very friendly, and it was a comfortable stay. Note, it is about 3-4 flights of stairs to get to the lodging. However the location and overall experience and value were really very good.

It is a quiet accommodation right near Il Duomo, and this was great. Room was spacious and clean. The “B and B” moniker is not quite accurate; Adelaide House doesn’t feature breakfast. Also, travelers benefit from being fit when staying here; it is necessary to climb three flights with luggage to enter. We enjoyed our stay here very much.

A wonderful place to stay
Waking up to the bells of the Duomo located a few steps away, was one of the delights of staying at Adelaide House. The host was extremely helpful and kind in ensuring check in and check out was a breeze for this English-only speaking tourist. The room was comfortable and clean. The shower was hot. Working Wifi. Adelaide House was excellent value and I would definitely stay again.

convenience location, although it was hard to find as there is another abandoned property with the same number. This is located on a 3rd floor so if you can't do stairs this is not the right place for you...it was very hard for me being pregnant but the location was perfect, very quiet and clean.

Lovely stay in Firenze August 2019
Fantastic location and great service from Grazie. We were steps from Il Duomo and all major attractions. Grazie was very helpful in making our reservations for our wine tour. I would definitely stay again however I would bring less heavy luggage as there is no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. However no complaints. Thank you Grazie.

Perfect location for me, owners always friendly and helpful. There are many stairs to get to the hotel so if you struggle with stairs probably wouldn’t recommend. I just loved walking outside and being so close to the Duomo. I would definitely stay here again.

I absolutely loved it. Best location in Venice. Bed very comfortable, sheets, towels, pillows all excellent. You can see the Duomo from your front door and walk to everything on the island. It's an old building but I loved it.

The room is perfect in terms of space and location. It is large, clean, safe, professionally finished and well maintained and the owners are easy to get hold of. However if you enjoy the little details you’ll be annoyed by the lack of a kettle and the fact you won’t be allowed to use the kitchen. Also, the finish in the bathroom was poor. The silicone was peeling and the water in the shower went from hot to cold. Also i found the lady who runs it rude. Finally, the wifi kep disconnecting and when I complained I didn’t get a resolution.

Thanks Romina, for your comment and for spending so much time and being meticulous in detail, while this morning at check-out you said that everything was fine. You were alone and instead of a single room, you had an upgrade, in the family room ... the bathrooms are all new, redone 2 years ago ... We give the kettle to everyone supplied, on request, with a variety of tea and coffee. As for the kitchen, it is not a hostel, and it is not mentioned anywhere to be able to use it, as the Italian laws forbid it. If I appeared rude, I'm sorry, people usually write the opposite on me, but I accept everything.I invite you to write the reasons why I found it rude, I am very curious, and will serve to improve me. Adelaide House is a very compact, no frills, but very comfortable accommodation just yards away from the Duomo in Florence. Our room (#1) was a fair size with it's own shower and toilet/washroom. It had a safe for valuables, air conditioning and a compact fridge. The view from the window was a tiny square on the backstreet below surrounded by other flats and buildings but not what I would call a "sightseeing" view - but it wasn't bad at all. The only downside was that Adelaide House is at the tope of 5 (five) flights of stairs (48 give or take a few) with no elevator. Be warned that it's quite a slog if you have a HUGE heavy suitcase like we did. Better off traveling light if you can. But DO NOT let the steps deter you. For a low cost place to crash in Florence that is so central to EVERYTHING, Adelaide House if a great place to stay.

They were really flexible about the check in time and responsive! Made our trip much easier! The room was nice enough and tidy. I wish there was shampoo though. All they had was packets of shower gel. I guess we should have come prepared!

Good and central
Room was a good size, particularly bearing in mind its city centre location. It was very helpful having a kettle and fridge in the room, not least as breakfast wasn't included - which surprised me given the hotel is described as a "bed and breakfast" one. I liked the ability to come and go as I pleased; and those concerned about security might find the locked gate on the stairs a bonus. The stairs weren't an issue to begin with but as the week went on and I got tireder with the walking and heat they began to loom in my mind. But I would readily stay there again if returning to Florence.

Location! On the same block as the Duomo!
The only drawback for me, a senior citizen, was the fact that this is a fourth floor walk up! I did not know that until the evening I arrived.

We arrived very early and intended to drop off our bags. I thought I booked a hotel not a B&B but she was very nice let us leave our bags and gave us the key for when our room would be ready. Check out was a little weird since we didn't discuss it and no one was there when we were. We just left our key in the room....hope it was okay. We were very busy and only in the room to sleep, leaving very early so usually in this situation I would have a hotel with a 24 hour desk. Otherwise perfect. Clean, comfortable, and near everything.

Excellent location. Within walking distance of major sights. The room was a decent size. Only major issue was the unpredictability of the hot water. Staff was extremely helpful. Would stay there again.

The rooms were perfectly good to stay in and very central. However I think Adelaide House needs to make the restrictions on when the reception will be open a little clearer, and the procedures for arrival, departures and problem solving e.g noisy guests around those hours. Otherwise a pleasant stay in a clean and well cared for set of rooms.

Located next to the Duomo and walking distance to the train station and all other major attractions. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The building is also very safe and secure. Only thing to be mindful is there is no elevator and quite a lot of stairs, but this is only a minor inconvenience. Would definitely recommend!

Very convenient hotel with kind staff
If you want to be right in the middle of all the attractions in Florence, this is a perfect spot. It's a beautiful street with a view of Il Duomo, close to many good restaurants (and gelato). You can get to all the major museums with no more than a 10-15 minute walk. Great shopping too. The managers, Grazia and her father, are kind and helpful. The room itself is comfortable and clean. The only thing I would have liked is a kettle in the room to make tea in the morning.

Just a suggestion is to have the two separate key cards so then the fridge can still be on even when we go out during the day.
