Wonderful location in Florence.

So wonderful. Right around the corner from The Medicci and the rest of Florence's rich history. The staff was amazing - great breakfast. Our room was quiet with a view of the dome of the Medicci chapel. Wonderful bath - with a nice shower and all. Thank you Christin.

Not special, confusing labyrinth to rooms

This was advertised to be in an old palazzo which it was, but you first have to get through a large iron gate in the entryway. You have to call the hotel to tell them to buzz you in, then go up many flights of stairs to get to the "desk" because there is also another hotel in that same building. My room was almost impossible to get to - felt like it might have originally been the servant's attic room. Very small and very, very confusing to get to. Down stairs, then either up or down more stairs depending on whether or not you were going outside or to the dining room/desk, then take an elevator to 1 floor down, more steps, a different elevator. Just ridiculous to try to figure out. Tiny bathroom with no outlet. The view is a wall and a piece of rooftop. Bed is hard and pillow like a rock. Very depressing and discouraging. The dining room/sitting room/front desk/kitchen is fixed up nicely, and breakfast ok but just basics, nothing special. The staff is ok, some are very accommodating, others not so much. I came very close to moving to another hotel, but as bum as this hotel turned out to be, it was too much trouble to move and maybe have to go up and down more steps, etc.

Dear Guest, We are really sorry you had so many difficulties in finding the room and also a little surprised about it, as we usually sell it and nobody had so many problems as you had. Pillows are the same in all bedrooms, so it's hard for us to figure what you mean by a "rock". Most of our guests consider our breakfast as very special, and if you call it basic, we would be curious to learn how,is your breakfast usually. I'm so glad I chose this B&B for our honeymoon. Very romantic, perfect location, excellent breakfast. Would love to go back!

tell state it was one of the best parts of my vacation the staff speaks every language especially English very Well. The manager was especially concerned with helping me get my suitcase back show me how to use the phone as well as speaking to Agent's in Italian for me.

Beware of Limited Hot Water and No Heating!

One of the few positive factors of this hotel is its location. The hotel is centrally located so shops and most attractions are all within walking distance. The rooms are also a decent size which is rare when travelling in Europe. However, the positive factors do not outweigh the negatives. For the first two days we stayed at the hotel, there was no heat. Since it was October in Italy, we definitely required heat especially at night to sleep properly. We were freezing and even got sick from the lack of heat in our rooms. When we inquired about the heat, the hotel stated they would turn it on from 6 pm to midnight only. So, obviously it was a cost issue for them. However, the lobby of the hotel was always warm where they worked so it was ironic and reflects their priorities. Another negative factor was the limited hot water. If you come back to the hotel in the evening and shower after 8 pm, you will have a very difficult time getting a hot shower. You have about 5 minutes of hot water then it starts to turn colder and colder and colder until you are showering in ice cold water. So, we had to wake up early every morning to get a decent shower. I assume the hot water tank is shared between all the rooms and the hot water tank does not hold a sufficient amount of hot water. Thus, if you come home late, you don't get a hot shower before bedtime!! When we inquired, there was really no response as they couldn't do anything about it.

Convenient and clean, but basic

Very convenient for station and other tourist destinations. Stayed one night in basic but comfortable single room. Quirky layout in old fashioned but charming building with friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, covering every nationality's preferences. Wi-fi only obtainable through social media.

Nice, clean and trouble free. Excellent hosts, very good breskfast, very traditional. A bit noisy area given the location but this is what you trade for. Fully recommend it and I would certainly return.

This place surprised us with how nice and big it was. The staff is so friendly and the breakfast was delicious! Perfect way to start each day. We felt extremely safe here since there are multiple keys needs to access the room. It was far away enough from the noise that it was pleasant, but not too far from everything that we felt away from all the action. Room was big, bed was big, and the bathroom had a great tub.
