Not a good hotel to stayPosted Aug 13, 2015
The staff was nice to let us check-in early in one of our three rooms to store our luggage. Two of the 3 rooms we occupied were short of dump. In one room (130) , the bed was falling apart. The beds were two single that were put side by side. This hotel is a total disappointment! I will never go back. If you already made a booking request to have a room other than 129 and 130. Those two rooms will ruin your vacation.

Good value close to downtownPosted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Funky elevator and shuttered windows. Good AC. very friendly staff.
Cons: The room decoration is a little sparse and the beds were not the most comfortable.
Location: Train station, Duomo, Uffizi.
Some issues (bed a little rough and hard pillows) but staff was very friendly and the booking was flawless. The hotel is very close to the train station and convenient to the city centre ( Duomo, etc.). The rooms were reasonable and the AC was a blessing in the 37+ heat we had. Lovely multiple layers of shutters for an old world feel.

Great location from SMN Train StationPosted Jul 9, 2015 on Hotels
A/c worked well which was important for the hot summer days/nights. Room was large and had a balcony which faced a private yard. Shower pressure was great and hot water always available. The shower was larger than the other 5 hotels we stayed in Italy in June/July 2015. Breakfast was typical with croissants, bread. jam, nutella, cheese, ham, sweets, fruit, yogurt and cereal. Staff at the front desk offered us a map and circled the highlights to see in Florence. They provided additional information when we asked. We chose this hotel due to the proximity to the train station SMN (2 minute walk) yet you could not hear the trains. The buses to Siena and San Gigimano were also close (not even 10 minute walk). The elevator worked well as this hotel is on the 2nd floor (3rd for USA) of a building with other hotels on each floor. We did hear buses idling out on the street (private bus company) at times as well as birds chirping in the morning and even at night. The Ponte Vecchio and other famous Florence sites were no more than 25 minute walk.

A block from the train stationPosted Jul 2, 2015
Classy rooms, very good breakfast. My kids were thrilled with the old-fashioned elevator. However there was no elevator to the main floor so we had to carry all luggages up the steps.
