Good LocationPosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: The location, reasonable price.
Cons: Maybe a little more attention to detail in the rooms.
Location: Very central to the old town. Easy walking distance from the train station.
Having had a long days travel we were unsure about our first stay in Florence. We had a little difficulty in finding the hotel down a side street, however this was probably more to do with the lack of familiarity of the surroundings and the long days travel as the hotel was walking distance from the train station. We had originally booked to stay for two nights in a quadruple room, but had extended it to three at the last minute and as the quadruple room wasn't available we had a triple room the first day, then had to swap rooms for the next two. This was organised before we left and the staff were quick to respond and helpful throughout. When we arrived we were a little dissapointed with the room, it was very basic, though clean, despite this it was clear after an initial walk around that the location was very central to the old town and good. The staff moved all of our luggage when we changed room with no fuss and were very helpful during our stay. The second room was a lot better, with a newly fitted bathroom and was more spacious for me, my wife and two kids. Overall it was a good stay. Breakfast was a fairly basic buffet.

Great location and nice, helpful staff!Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: Free breakfast, clean rooms, nice/helpful staff, great location
Cons: elevator and figure out funny smell (see above)
Location: Gelato at Antica Gelataria Florentina, via Faenza 2a. You will not be disappointed!
My daughter and I just got back from 5 nights in Florence. Our stay at Hotel Globus was fantastic. It's a small, typical Florence hotel. It was perfectly located, minutes from the Duomo, 5-10 minute walk to train station, a minute or two from Mercado Centrale, and lots of other great places. We arrived, but my suitcase did not, so we did not have our adapter for our electronics. The front desk would charge our phones for us, which was a HUGE help! They were very willing to help with information, printing tickets, etc. They also helped me do some research into my lost bag. There is a substantial breakfast included each morning. Great restaurants nearby and the best gelato right around the corner and down the street a bit (Antica Gelataria Florentina, via Faenza 2a, so yummy!) The room was small (I think pretty typical for small European hotels), but plenty of room for us. We had 2 twin beds, which were close to each other, but they worked and were comfy. We had read that the AC in Florence hotels wasn't great, but our room was cool and nice. We also had a window that opened (no screen), but it was nice to have some fresh air and it gave us a neat view. The only "downsides" I would say are the fact that there are only stairs and after walking and climbing around Florence, it could be tiring! There is a lift for suitcases when you arrive and leave. Also, there is a funny smell as you enter. Not a big deal though. Will definitely stay there again!

Ideally placedPosted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Location, staff and room
Cons: The lift all the way to the ground floor.
Location: The central market is nearby and not to be missed. Otherwise all attractions are within an easy walk.
The hotel access is a small problem for us in our late 60s, but the reception staff were alert to our arrival and quickly came to assist us with our bags. Renovations will soon see reception move to the ground floor which will fix the problem. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We enjoyed our stay andwouldhave no doubt about recommending the hotel to our friends.

BUENA UBICACION Y PERSONAL MUY ATENTOPosted Aug 16, 2015

Excellent location, great valuePosted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Bigger rooms would be nicer and AC was OK, but a bit quirky.
Location: Right around the corner from the train station and market. About 5-10 minutes from the Duomo. Many restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk.
Staff was competent, friendly, and helpful. Location could not have been much better. Rooms were small, but more than adequate considering price and location.

A humble experiencePosted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: What I liked most was the cleanliness and the staff.
Cons: The hotel could really use better pillows and beds.
Location: It's close to the train station and famous churches like San Lorenzo .
First off the staff was really nice. Also everything was super clean and the breakfast was good. The bathrooms were very good especially the water pressure. Although the discomfort I had was that the beds and the pillows were hard as rocks. Also what I have to say about the elevator is that it's humble.
