Location is goodPosted Nov 2, 2015
The hotel can be reached within 10 minutes walk from the train station. Staff were nice and helpful. We booked 3 rooms for 3 nights but some facilities were not working on the first night. After discussing with the staff, the facilities were improved. Recommended for tourists who only have a short stay in Firenze.

Excellent and affordable hotel in great locationPosted Oct 22, 2015
Pros: The staff, location, and price were all excellent. Breakfast was great. It's everything you want in a hotel in a large city at a fair price.
Cons: I can't really think of anything improvements.
Location: All major sights (Ufizzi Gallery, Duomo, Central Market, Ponte Veccio, etc) are in walking distance. Very nice for photography of Arno and bridges.
I booked the Hotel Magenta based on a recommendation from two friends who stayed there the previous year, and they were completely right about it. The hotel is in an excellent location a block north from the Arno river near the Amerigo Vespucci bridge. It is approx. a 10-minute walk to the Santa Maria Novella train station and within walking distance of the major sight-seeing spots. My single room was modestly sized, clean, utilitarian, and very fairly priced given the hotel's convenient location. I enjoyed the artwork as well. A very nice breakfast including cappuccino, coffee, cheese, yogurt, bananas, juices, etc. is provided in a modern dining room. A pleasant lounge area is also available. Above all else, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. All the staff speak English fluently and provided me with help tracking down gluten-free restaurants and finding my way around Florence. In-room Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. The only reason why I rated the facilities and room comfort as 4 rather than 5 is that I think that people residing in North America are used to very large hotel rooms and larger bathrooms. The shower is a little snug by North American standards. Personally, I found the room size just fine. Everything was clean and comfortable. I wasn't bothered by any noise from the street and slept very well. I can't say enough about the Hotel Magenta and its amazing staff. If I am lucky enough to return to Florence, I know where I want to stay.

Clean, reasonable price. Breakfast is nice. Although not close to Firenze SMN station, but easy to find and only 10 mins from station.

Nice Hotel 15min from centrePosted Sep 23, 2015
Hotel well situated from the train station with only 5-10min walk away. It's a lovely 15-20min walk to ponte vecchio and piazza signoria. Fairly basic hotel slightly expensive for where it is situated.

Charming small hotel in great locationPosted Aug 5, 2015 on Hotels
We booked the hotel in short notice, to stay over night while passing Florence. On arrival late night, the staff was very helpful to accommodate for parking place as we arrive by car. The room had to be changed from family to two double room because aircon was apparently not running. The hotel has probably seen the prime of its time, but value for money is still excellent.
