The staff were really helpful and friendly, it has its own free parking which is a great benefit and is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood within walking distance of many sights and restaurants. However the part of the property we stayed in is a bit run-down and could use some updating. It worked for us (a family of 3) for the one night and I think would have worked for my spouse and I when we were fresh out of college.

Stayed at Villa Carlotta for 4 night in September and it was great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is in beautiful and in a safe area a 10 minute walk to Boboli Gardens and the old city. Parking available on site.

You don't get a double bed even if you ask and when you request to have the single beds put together as a double bed for a couple, nothing is done. This property is overrated and overprice for what you get.

Nice Hotel in convenient location with parking. Good breakfast. Street in front of Hotel is very narrow and access to hotel parking is very narrow. Air Conditioning was not working during our stay.

Nice Hotel
We stayed 3 nights here as part of a long trip. This is a lovely hotel in a quiet part of the city but within easy walking distance to Boboli Gardens, Pitti Palace etc. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The small carpark is a bit tight but definitely a plus as we were on a driving tour, although there is on street parking right outside which costs €2 per hour (free on Sundays) Our room was comfortable and had a small terrace which was a nice space to sit and relax Breakfast was nice, fairly simple, everything was fresh and the breakfast room overlooking the pool was nice too. We didn't use the pool but it was a good addition to the facilities and was really clean and well maintained.

Si vous aimez un endroit plus calme que le centre des attractions, ceci est l’endroit idéal. Une petite marche est nécessaire pour se rendre aux attraits touristiques mais parfait pour digestion! L’hôtel est typiquement Italien et entouré de verdure. Nous avons apprécié notre séjour et recommandons l’endroit sans hésitation.

The location is fantastic, easy to walk in and out of the city center. Staff are friendly and responsive. Parking is VERY limited but street parking (paid) seemed plentiful and at the time of my stay was $24 Euro per day (free Sundays). I stayed in the annex of the property not the actual villa and there seems to be a noise issue as I found the walls/doors very thin (and could hear all my neighbors, anyone in the hall, etc) and had responded to the initial question the website sends out when I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night. The MOD had messaged me thru hotels.com about moving rooms, but I never received the message. By the time she saw me, the other room was not still available but I did appreciate the proactive handling the situation even if the app didn't relay the message (never received it, even at a later time).

Property was perfect for what we needed, easy walking distance to all the tourist locations, staff were lovely and very friendly and went above and beyond to order a taxi for me to get to the airport at 5am. Only compliant would be the hall smelled a bit off, there was no "do not disturb" sign in our room and I was unable to access the safe. However this is just nit picking, the property was excellent otherwise.

The hotel room needs urgent renovation. Old carpet in the corridors smells the age. Mattress was quite old and noisy, bed linen and towels was old must be changed. Location is great a couple blocks from Roman gate, but quite. Prking is available inside the property. I would not stay there again neither I would recommend unless it’s renovated.

We stayed there as we wanted a hotel with a pool, but walkable to the centre of Florence. It was perfect. Very hot but the aircon worked well. Pool was lovely. Staff friendly. Rooms large. 1km from the tourist area but bobolli gardens very close, wonderful bars and restaurants nearby. Cannot recommended highly enough

The staff were all friendly and professional. Some of the decor was a little tired, but the beds were very comfortable and the shower great. There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms we stayed in, nor a Do Not Disturb sign to use. Couldn't figure out the aircon, but that may have been my fault and fortunately it wasn't too hot when we visited. Breakfast had a good spread of options. Parking was a little tight behind the main building, but I did manage to park off the road every day I was there. The hotel is situated in a leafy, quiet part of the city, but within walking distance of the Ponte Vecchio and the main attractions. There is also a taxi rank within 5 mins walk down the hill and we would recommend the Porta Romana restaurant, which is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel; very good service and lovely food.

Nice building that is not kept up properly Rooms are good size but in need of renovation Parking was advertised as available on site but we were told that no parking spots were available and we had to park on the street and pay for it The staff on call the evening of check in was not helpful at all There is no one on site after 10 pm Internet was advertised but did not work for the most part Breakfast was actually very good Overall this is definitely not a 4 star hotel

We are sorry you did not find place in our parking, however, yes, as you wrote parking is advertised but it is clearly stated that there are "limited places". The parking is free and it is at our Guests disposal, but it is subject to availability. The reception is closed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. but there is a night watchman who is always present and reachable by phone in case of need. We have wi-fi internet connection in all rooms and in all common areas. We don't know why "it did not work", but if you had told us that there were some problems with the connection, we could have checked and could have fixed the problem. We will definitely take your comments into consideration; we are constantly working to always improve our services. Kind regards.

decent mid range hotel in a quiet part of the city
It was fine, but the hotel needs to manage its car parking lot. Was hemmed in when trying to leave to catch a flight and had to do a 20 point turn to escape. Otherwise pretty ok hotel.

Hidden gem
Great hotel in a villa. Short walk down hill to the Boboli Garden which leads you to the palace and on to the city center. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and presentable. The villa looks small from the outside but it is very much pretty large once inside. And the breakfast was fantastic. Best place to stay in Florence if you don’t want to be in the crowded city center. Oh they also have free parking if you’re driving to Florence. Overall hidden gem of a hotel in Ferenze.

Friendly staff in a grand classic italian villa. 20 min walk from Porto Vecchio it is in a beautiful area by Garden Boboli away from the throngs of tourists but close to many great restaurants. They provide great breakfast and a pool. Would definetly stay there again.

Perfect low key location
Love this location near the gardens, and a short walk into the main town. Great local restaurants nearby and I got to use the swimming pool this time - cold but refreshing!

I had picked this hotel for location alone - close enough to the center of town without having to drive through the tighter streets. Having private off-street parking was definitely a plus, as street parking is highly competitive in this area. The room was on the third floor, so we had to take the small elevator up and down. It was pretty hot while we were there, and the elevator got quite hot and stuffy during the slow trips up and down. The AC didn't work all that well, but it kept the room from being too hot. The facilities are a bit outdated as noted in other reviews, mostly in the area of accommodating modern electronics (no direct USB ports for charging, for instance). A little inconvenient to charge two phones using one power converter (we came from the US), but we were able to do it. The room was OK, nothing spectacular, but not bad, either.

It was beautiful. I loved it. Next time I will take the bus instead of walk or take a taxi. I wish they had more information about bus and time schedules. Overall it was wonderful!

Breakfast runs out fast , for 2 Days we have missed melon and fresh meats . They need to have more available to cut as it gets eaten . Sterfano has been most helpful through our stay .. great location and bathroom facilities .

Beautiful villa next to Boboli Gardens
Villa Carlotta exceeded our expectations. Since this was a repeat visit to Florence for my husband and me, we decided to stay out of the main tourist area. What a good decision. The location was in an upscale neighborhood and felt like we were a part of it. There is an entrance for Boboli Gardens used by the locals that is very close to the hotel. We nearly had the garden to ourselves being in the back where tourists frequently don’t go. Magical. The hotel is a villa surrounded by others like it. It was quiet and green. The pool area was gorgeous and had tall trees all around it. We spent some time everyday lounging around and in the pool. A cool respite form the summer heat. Our room was comfortable and quiet. No complaints at all. One thing to know about Florence in the summer is that mosquitoes are everywhere. Come with mosquito repellant and you will be more comfortable. I would definitely return to this charming hotel in the future.
