Don’t book room 213!
In fairness, I did book the last room available at this hotel. I am assuming that this room was undergoing renovations and was obviously not finished. There was a place where a large ?door-sized hole in the wall had been patched but not painted. I hope it was removing a door and not a SWAT team breach. There is no soundproofing so every traffic noise was heard. The bed foundation was a box made of metal so every movement caused a metallic clang. The mini fridge only had 3 legs so it took a lot of balancing just to open the door. To top it off, there was no water connection to the bath/shower this morning so I had to wash up in the sink.

Very noisy property! Loud voices, honking until 1am! Lobby was closed when checking in at 6pm so you have to use the side window which attendant opened 1 inch to perform check in transaction. Parking is tight. My truck was parked on the end and another truck parked caddy corner which prevented me from being able to back without hitting his truck. Space should be for compact cars only. My 4WD was able to ride up on curb to exit.

My room had unsightly stains in the carpet, the shower curtain either had stains or mold on it. There was definitely mold in the shower, and a taped up hole in the tub. Don't even wanna discuss the stains on the couch. Wouldn't hurt for this place to actually do some maintenance and some deep cleaning.

The guy at the service desk was super uptight and rude. God forbid your coangler ride with you but stay across the road. They legit would not let my friend (also coangler) get in my truck without threatening to “have a problem”. So if you plan on having anyone stay across the way but carpool, don’t. The dude didn’t believe my truck was mine, even though my name is plastered on the side of it.

Underwhelming
Have stayed at Key West in Fair Hope which is why we selected this one. Mistake. No comparison. A shabby, poorly maintained place. Hard rails on the stairs are so filthy you don't want to touch them. 1 hand towel for 2 people. Cigarette burns in the bedspread (non-smoking room). 2 hangers, 1 coffee bag. while we were out for breakfast someone on staff went into our room to "collect towels". Spend a little more and find a better place. Also on major truck route so bring ear plugs.

The shower had mold under the handles, pillows were there but only in name, matress and box springs were stained badly and not comfortable at all , vending machines were virtually empty. Staff wasnt rude but wasn't exceptionally welcoming either. Won't stay here again.

Sir, pre-paid reservations are non refundable. When you book it, it will tell you that if you do pre-paid reservation, it’ll be non refundable. You had expired ID that’s why we couldn’t check you in. Gota have valid ID in order to get a room at Keywest Inn.

Booked room month in advance, slow check in, had to change rooms- 1st room hot no ac running and wouldn’t cool, 2nd room ac wasn’t running either but cooled down after an hour. Low supply of towels - one person, thin a rough, one hand towel to share, had to ask for more towels. Cleaning maid entered room even when ‘do not disturb’ was on door every day. Coffee in small lobby wasn’t available one morning, only a small muffin or biscuit, dry cereal only. Check-in host was nice but that about all. Better than tent camping!

Upon arrival I had to check in at a window where the clerk was moving away from me to register me but continued to ask more question that were not understandable given the distance and glass. Then, to add to it the clerk announced no visitors, etc. I’m thinking dang what kind of place have I checked into. Did they think I was going to be having callers all night? Hmm It was a bit frustrating. Then, we go to the room. In the shower on the top ledge laid a used bar of soap. Pubic hair all over the shower walls. Let’s just say I will not be staying there again.

The lobby was supposed to be open until 11 pm for checking in. Got there at 9:30 pm and had to register outside at the window, when only 45 degrees outside. Also, was suppose to get hot continental breakfast included. For 2 days was out of juices, and only offered cereal and granola bars and coffee. Total rip off.

The hotel was average, but it was also a disappointing that the management and staff regard their bookings, as I reserved a Smoking King Room for one night but management and the staff decided to place me in a Smoking Double and place someone else in the Smoking King Room as they were staying a week. I will not utilize this hotel or any hotel that changes room reservations on the basis of your length of stay

Remote wasn't programmed to tv, the guy said he would be there in 10 minutes, an hour later I called front desk again he apologized and said he'd be right over, he never showed! Terrible service from him! The bed frame was made of thin sheet metal and flexed every time you got in or out of bed and made a loud noise from flexing! Will not stay here again.

2/10, do not recommend!
The rooms and items in rooms were awful. Bed linens were scratchy. Did not have bar soap at the sink. Of the 4 rooms that my colleagues and I had, 2 didn’t have functioning air conditioning and the breakfast was terrible.

No-frills, but decent
The "no frills" definition is correct. The staff member who checked us in was friendly and quick. The room was a little dingy, but it appears to mostly be from age, not lack of care. The only thing that was a little off-putting was the shower curtain, which had some stains and holes and probably should have been replaced.

Thank you for your feedback. Maybe if your son and girlfriend would have followed our rules, everything would have been fine. When they checked in, we said NO visitors....means no visitors but i guess your son didn't get it. And plus we said if you break any of our rules, not only you will kicked out from the room without refund but also you will loose your cash deposit too. So instead of pointing a finger at us, you should tell people the truth and tell them what exactly happened and why you lost your deposit. BTW thanks!

We were quite disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, the bedsheets seemed clean, but the blankets and cover were not. We were exhausted and just managed because the hotel was completely booked and at that time of day probably not much could happen. The staff were very nice.

The room was cold, the a/c heating unit was not on. It took a long time for the room to warm up. There were only 2 towels in the room. Also the shower handle when pulling out to turn the water on would come away from the wall. Other than those two things it was a good room for just an overnight stay.
