Pros: The peace and quiet a stone's throw from the centre of the city.
Cons: Attention to the condition of the furnishings and appropriate supplies of glassware and crockery.
Location: Brilliant; easy access (if you can climb 100 stairs) to all the city between the Duomo and Uffizi.
I have happily stayed in the Torre Greco before (2007) and was more than pleased to return to the top floor of a 12th cent mediaeval tower that looks over the Palazzo Vecchio, although I was a taken aback to be asked to pay unadvertised additional costs for bed linen and also for a final cleaning charge that incereased the cost of a two day stay by 28% . But when we arrived none of the beds was made up and when sheets were brought there were no fresh duvet covers. We had to ask for glasses and were only brought two tumblers. We reported that two light bulbs had blown (one a bedside light) and they were not replaced during our stay. The upholstery on one arm chair had perished and was half covered by a blanket as a throw. Odd numbers of plates, saucers and cups and no wine glasses. Maybe an updated inventory would help tor return this to one of the hidden gems of Firenze.

Pros: Its Location
Cons: Very basic
Location: Within walking distance of most attractions
We did not expect to have to make our own beds. The fact that we had to pay 25 euros per person for bed linen was not made overly clear on the website. The toilet seat was broken which I did point out to the member of staff who came to bring our linen. He said they were aware of it and that we would not be charged, but did not do anything about it. The best thing about the hotel was its location, it was within walking distance of everything we needed, so that was in its favour.

Sneaky pricing

When we booked on Expedia for a 6 person apartment, we paid the bill us dollars. But when we went to check in there was a 20 euro per person charge for sheets! We clearly needed the sheets, but it made it much less of a bargain. Also, this was NOT an apartment. They were regular rooms in an apartment type building, but there was certainly no sitting room/kitchen/etc.... That being said, good location, fairly clean, without the towel charge would have been perfect for the money.

A Real Gem in the Heart of Florence

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the One World Apartments in Florence. We collected our keys from the office and had a short 5 minute walk to our apartment. The office staff were very helpful and friendly. Our apartment was huge considering it was only a studio apartment - we had a lounge with sofabed, bedroom, kitchen diner, large lounge and newly fitted bathroom. The location of the apartment was perfect being just a few minutes walk from all the major attractions of Florence. We felt that we got a fantastic deal and would definitely return to these apartments and would have no hesitation recommending them to others.

Aircon what aircon

This is a con- you are not staying in a building block called one world apartments. Ours looked like a exchange student flat rented out for the summer- the furniture was not modern but falling apart. We picked up a key at the address listed and were sent to another building about 15 mins away. After carrying our bags up 12 flights of stairs we found the apartment had no aircon and only 2 black and white TV channels with no sound(no satellite TV) . The apartment was very spacious and central to Ufizzi but dirty.

Somewhat deceiving...

The location listed is the apartment rental office (which in itself is difficult to find); the apartment we reserved actually ended up being on the south side of the Arno, not impossibly far from everything, but definitely not the listed location and a lengthy walk to the town center. The apartment units are older, and some aspects of it (such as the bathroom) are uncomfortable and in need of refurbishment. If you come in the summer, skip this place because without any air conditioning, it was 110 degrees F in our room at 3:00am. I suppose it's reasonable accommodations for the price, but be warned: 1) No air conditioning 2) Locations vary but are DEFINITELY not at the listed location on Via Della Vigna Nuova 3) Amenities are meager, including patchy/weak wireless Internet 4) This particular unit is over an extremely busy and noisy street, with windows that do nothing to keep the sound out (but maintain an impossibly hot room) Overall, not a recommended booking; stay only if you need a cheap unit with a kitchenette and washer and can't find anything else. I would give this unit 2- Stars...
