We keep returningPosted Nov 14, 2015
Pros: The staff, room comfort and cleanliness.
Cons: I liked our firm bed but my wife would prefer something soft.
Location: Hotel is a little removed from the shopping area, but close to Tito's and Perseus restaurants, hair dresser, ATM, wine and sandwich shops and bus line
Staying at San Gallo Palace is like visiting family. We just returned from from a week's stay (our 5th or 6th) at San Gallo Palace. The staff are like old friends, always thoughtful and polite. Georgia, Jetmir, Linda, Luca, Paola at the front desk and George and Lilly at the bar (we miss Ezzat) are a pleasure to know and could not be more helpful. They help us with recommendations, reservations, transportation, whatever. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to town, a little further out than some of the others, but the rates are very reasonable and we're so comfortable at the San Gallo, we just keep going back. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and relaxing. Free breakfast and WIFI. Overall, hotel is an excellent value with a wonderful staff. We're already looking forward to our next trip back.

FlorencePosted Nov 12, 2015
Pros: Very clean and staff very helpful and friendly
Location: Loads to do and see in Florence. We even got to see the pope!!
Really great break. Lovely weather, plenty to do and see. Hotel was great, the only downside was that it was a 20 minute walk to town which might be an issue for some people. The trip was amazing value for money.

gepflegtes Hotel in guter LagePosted Nov 7, 2015
Pros: Das freundliche Personal und der gute Kaffee zum Frühstück.
Cons: Die Bedienbarkeit der Klimaanlage. Das Bad steht schnell unter Wasser beim Duschen...
Location: Ca 2 km vom Stadzentrum entfernt.

Great hotel in all respects with helpful staff.Posted Oct 29, 2015
Pros: Beautiful room, friendly and helpful staff, location and food. My wife enjoyed using the small gym facility. Wifi available for free.
Cons: Nothing obviously comes to mind.
Location: 25 mins from the river and closer to other attractions. Very near San Marco Museum which was my favourite place to visit.
This was a very good find via Expedia. The San Gallo is walking distance from the centre of Florence (about 25 mins from the Uffizi and closer to the Duomo). It is very close to the wonderful San Marco monastery/museum featuring the beautiful and deeply moving frescoes of Fra Angelico, who was one of the monks there - don't miss this it is one of the most truly spiritual places I know. It is open in the morning during the week but all day over the weekend. Our room at the hotel was high ceilinged beautifully clean and a pleasure to be in. The staff, without exception, were both friendly and helpful. The room was a bit noisy with the window open as it is near a busy road but totally silent with the window shut. The breakfast was very good, with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt, cheese etcetc. I would strongly recommend this hotel and we have already done so to our friends and family. I would be very happy to go back there one day.

Great location and staffPosted Oct 25, 2015
Pros: Number one - helpful, friendly staff
Cons: Food options
Location: We walked to all major draws - Academia to see David, Duomo, shopping markets, Ponte Vecchio bridge.
Loved our stay here; easy to walk to major sites or catch bus to other areas. The staff was outstanding and so helpful. Telmir helped us save a lot by using public transportation to get to Fiesole rather than pay for tour. I wish the food options had been greater, but I would definitely stay here again.

I LOVE this place!Posted Oct 24, 2015
Pros: Silence! Comfort! Wonderful mattresses! A thoughtful staff....A fabulous breakfast before leaving for the airport and the 12,000 mile flight home
Cons: Nothing needs improvement...
Location: Florence is a walking city ... so...WALK! ...and you will find everything you desire.
I have chosen to stay here for years. I would not even consider any other place...
