The only people who will treat you better are the cleaning ladies. The rest are not helpful and are rude. There is no smile, They don’t even look to your face to answer simple questions. The room are very small, the bed is not comfortable. Don’t wast your money in that place.

Just decent and clean
A decent and clean hotel but it has a few flaws. Staff was not flexible about a cancelation request and later we found out that happened because their manager was off for the holiday weekend and nobody had such decision power. Bummer. We asked for an iron and an ironing board and they didn’t have them available. We asked for a restaurant recommendation and, even thought there was a delicious Mediterranean restaurant on the corner, the person in the front desk said she didn’t know what was open that day. Breakfast was okay and staff was pleasant, especially considering that the hotel was fully booked. It is located in a central area but we had to be careful walking around some high fellows on the streets. Bathroom was super tiny but overall the bed was comfortable, it was a quiet room, and the AC worked well.

Ran down Hotel that needs an update. Free WIFi was spotty, rooms are small and smelly of mold. Breakfast, lobby and location great.

Just awsome!
I totally loved my stay at the Valerim Plaza! The people were very friendly & professional, the food was excellent, and the room clean and bright. One could turn the heat or air conditioning on/off, depending on need. The breakfast was the healthiest I had seen in any hotel - lots of excellent fruit, high fiber cereal, and just a lot of other foods not in the "fried" category!!! Fish was a choice every day. Coffee and juice are free too in the reception rest area & the dining area. Salads are plenty. The reception desk employees helped with finding a tour company to visit the island and other areas. The hotel is also close to the bus station downtown (about 5min walk) and also minutes away from everything central (the market, old fig tree plaza, Metropolitan Cathedral, shopping district pedestrian area, etc.). It is a safe area. The airport is close - about 20-25min (the taxi was 30 reais), but one can take the local bus for a lot less. I have no idea if there is a pool or a gym, for ex. since it is not something I use. The rates are excellent for this hotel category.

Excelente Hotel! quarto arrumado, as coisas no lugar, cama muito boa, fácil acesso a tomada, facilidade qdo necessário acender a luz na armação da cabiceira da cama, localização excelente, fácil acesso as ruas, sem precisar de carro no centro da cidade. O banheiro do quarto estava com cheiro muito ruim que vinha do ralo, quarto tinha formigas na mesinha, na pia do banheiro, travesseiros precisam ser trocados por novos pois cheirava mal. Chuveiro bom, cortesia de água no frigobar e café da manhã muito bom também.
