Needs work the bars were closed most of the time we went there. The Tiki bar was closed every time we went there. On Friday night the Tiki bar closed at 8:52 pm, I'm on vacation want to get a drink and sit by the water the location is great but the service amenities need work. The pool bar is only open on the weekends and they don't have too many drinks.

Both the Sand Bar & Tiki Pool Bar have the same drinks available. Due to Guest frequency during the week, the Tiki Bar may not be open but both are open on weekends. We will be adding a food element to both locations shortly as well!

Love this place

Had a great time here, marina was good for our boat, we have a 21.7 foot boat and was able to use the ramp here with no problems.

not a functional marina

The housekeeper kept our room very clean. We booked at banana bay to utilize the marina when bringing out boat. The boat ramp was in such terrible condition and obviously hadn't been cleaned in a long time. When pulling our small boat out with a 4 wheel drive vehicle, the algae was so slick we had to manually go hand carry gravel from the driveway to have traction. No dockmaster present for the 4 days we were there to address this. Spoke to a gentleman in a banana bay shirt and he didn't seem interested at all.

We do have a full time Dockmaster that works Monday thru Friday 7:30 - 5pm & assists with everything Marina related, even pump outs for boats. Occasionally we have north winds that can bring seaweed into the marina, otherwise our boat ramp is clean & very easy to use. We are happy you enjoy the rest of your stay with us!

Buyer Beware

Dirty room, after I got out of the shower my feet were black & filthy. Uncomfortable bed. No water due to some broken pipe. So you couldn't shower or use the bathroom. But still charged us a resort fee & no,compensation. Will never come back.

We have made note of your comments and we normally have great reviews of our rooms, cleanliness and particularly our beds. We hope you spoke with our Front desk to see what we could do to remedy any of the issues that were encountered. We did have a water pipe burst the other week and we were able to fix this within 90 minutes, so we apologize if this inconvenienced you but it was not something that we could control but only fix as fast as possible.

good and not so good

Pros: It is fairly obvious that there are improvements being made but they are not being made well. It is a lovely property but can't be appreciated.
Cons: More information. Describe property and amenities or have something in room for information.
Location: Marathon is a great location for a home base for exploring the Florida keys. The hotel is centrally located in the Keys and has restaurants nearby.
Good Staff was very pleasant. The young lady taking care of the breakfast buffet was excellent!!!! Room was clean but really needs to be cleaned better. Bed was very comfortable. Room was spacious. Mini fridge was a plus. Not so good Second floor rooms up a steep set of about 15 steps. Need to tell when making reservations!!!!!! Absolutely no information available about area activities, attractions or transportation. Breakfast should be until at least 10 am your guests are on vacation. Please serve fresh fruit. The bananas should have been thrown out or used for banana bread! The oranges were also way past the time they should have been on the buffet. If you are going to have such a limited breakfast make it fresh and appealing.

We understand your concerns and we are definitely making improvements to the resort and it will be better than ever. Our Breakfast is new and we get many compliments on the offerings. In fact, the Oranges are true Florida Oranges which have a slight discolor to them. Typical Oranges yu get from the store are from California or S. America. Overall very nice stay...

Beautiful room with view of marina & water. Room renovated nicely with nice hardwood flooring, bed very comfortable with nice linens & bedding. Room nice and cool with nice adjustable ceiling fan. Good size flatscreen TV on a swivel base. Plenty of lighting in room and bedside although bedside swivel light did not function properly. Bathroom very nice with open walk in shower with rain shower head. Lighted oval mirror over sink that also served as a nightlight. Nice array of complimentary bath products. Water edge nicely equipped with chairs, loungers & hammocks to view the sunset. The only issue I found was with the breakfast rm & the breakfast itself. The food consisted of small croissants, bread & cold cereal. The breakfast room itself was outdated & dark. The front desk needs an update as well as possibly some customer service education. Overall it was a very nice stay & I was pleased with my choice...

Nice, pretty rooms. Simple, quiet hotel.

Potential of being a nice place; nicely decorated rooms. Ocean view with balcony super nice. "Resort view are view of trailer parking!" Would have had a nice stay if desk staff had been even remotely pleasant. Difficult and nasty to both my family and the representative who tried to speak to her from our booking company. Ultimately overcharged us $198.00 !!!!! Had to place several calls before competent and pleasant man working in hotel sales department took over and corrected issues. Way too many hassles, unpleasantness and phone calls to make this a good vacation option. Especially when there are so many more, equally as nice, options throughout the keys.

GREAT Rooms. Clean neat comfy beds. Beachy feel.

Great Rooms, Clean neat, beds are super comfy. The pool needs a bit of work. Staff was just staff. not extraordinary and not negative. They seem bored with their job. Close to stores and Sombrero beach.
