We enjoyed our stay. We used the kayak supplied by the resort to paddle out into the gulf. The pool area was very nice. The resort was close to several events and places we wanted to visit. The pool side room was nice except that there was an 8-inch step up to get to the table and bathroom that we failed to remember a couple times. If we stay there again, we will reserve one of their other fine rooms. The staff was very informative and friendly.

We really liked the ability to kayak right from the property. The room was ok, the a/c definitely smelled like mold anytime it was running. Our room had tiny little flying bugs (maybe ants?) on the furniture (hundreds of them) and our daughter left covered in bites, we can only guess from these bugs. The morning staff was friendly, the afternoon/evening staff not so much. Location was nice and the property was very quiet. We loved seeing the iguanas and manatees right on the property.

The night front desk lady was very sweet but the other lady at the front desk was unpersonable and sullen. We had 3 cockroaches in our room. The tv remote was broken. There was a half full bottle of booze left on our patio furniture.

Website photos are misleading, cropped. This is primarily an old FL motel. Rooms sit 100 feet from US1 with bed, dresser, table and chairs, sofa...no closet. Traffic noise on one side or rooster on other. Room relatively clean to start with, but each day new towels arrived but bathrooms, floors weren't cleaned. Complimentary breakfast consisted of coffee and "to go" plastic bag with juice, muffin, packaged fruit cup, yogurt, only offered 8-10AM. Kayaks old and not padded. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

Pros- Nice employees at desk. They recommended a good restaurant. Cons- Loud cars all the time, dirty old looking couch, something spilled on bathroom wall, rusty bathroom shower rod, killed 5 spiders and removed webb from ceiling, couldn't set air conditioning to a certain temperature, prepacked breakfast so couldn't pick out what you liked or wanted and oatmeal but no bowl. No place to eat, had to sit on yucky couch and hold food since had no table.

Free use of kayaks and old bikes. Airplanes overhead weren't too bad. The persistent rooster crowing from 2:30 to 7:00 am was a bit annoying. Had to keep the AC fan on all night to minimize the crowing sounds.

We liked absolutely nothing about this stay. I believe it to be false advertising on your website. The property is in need of a complete overhaul and I will be reaching out to the local health department and reporting them. We had to vacate 2 days early as my husband became ill and we believe it is due to the black mold in the air conditioning unit in the room. The walls were filthy with who knows what. Expedia is responsible for false advertising as I do not believe you would have this property listed on your website had you actually visited this property. It is grossly overpriced and I cannot express enough how filthy it is.

We were assigned an upstairs room in one of their bungalows. The room was comfortable, clean and nicely appointed. I had to move the desk to plug in the TV as it was unplugged and non-functional. Easily fixed. The hair dryer was non-functional. The balcony and seating area was a nice touch. The price was reasonable. Be aware that the property is on a flight path approach to the Marathon airport, which seemingly gets traffic during daylight hours (but thankfully is quiet at night). The property is conveniently located (but remember Marathon is one big strip). I found the 10AM checkout time to be a bit inconvenient and it made me decide not to do a morning dive with the local dive agency (we did an afternoon in Key West instead - our next destination). The front desk staff was courteous and professional. We did not take advantage of the "free" breakfast - the breakfast nook had one table and that suggested inconvenience - I prefer not to start the competition with other patrons that early in the day. We'd consider staying here again.

Check in was fine, nothing special. Advertised as sound proof room, the room might have been but not the door and when you have families with screaming kids running up the stairs its loud. Also you are at the end of the runway, good thing the planes don't fly in at night. Went to use the coffee maker the next morning and glad i looked in the water area, it was bad, put the pot out of the way and happy i had my own. It definitely was not worth the nightly price we paid. For breakfast you got a zip lock bag with cheese it crackers, tangerine, instant oatmeal, juice box, yogurt, not impressed.

Shower water was cold, had to wait 20-25 min for water to warm up. Even had to move rooms for a hot water shower. Ants all over shower and sink. I understand it’s florida but paying this much for a room, I don’t expect ants in the shower.

COCONUT CAY LIVED UP TO ITS GO9D REVIEWS. IT IS INDEED CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. I BOOKED 3 ROOMS AND THOUGH THERE WERE MINOR PROBLEMS - LEAKY AC IN ONE ROOM AND SLOW FLOWING BASIN SINK IN ANOTHER IT WAS INSUFFICIENT TO SPOIL THE POSITIVE IMPRESSION OF COCONUT CAY.

The only thing that happened to us is that we checked in a little before 6 pm and our idea was to be at the pool for a while. When checking in they told us that the pool closed at sunset, however the hotel information said that they closed later. Even on the door to entry the pool it said they closed at 8 pm.
