Adequate, but pricey and dated

Posted Mar 31, 2016 on Hotels
Motel was convenient and adequate but needs updating, especially for the price. Nice pools and hot tub. In the future, I will stay In Florida City, which is 30 minutes north for half the price and get a continental breakfast as a bonus.

God stopover

Kun en nat på vej fra Orlando til Key West. Er på hovedvejen og perfekt for en nat. God morgenmad inkluderede i prisen.

Old Hotel

Posted Mar 17, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Carpets, beds, bathrooms.
I expected a lot more out of a Holiday Inn. This was in a good location, right by a marina, and you can't beat Key Largo. Unfortunately, the hotel was very outdated and worn. The most disappointing this was that, at check in, once the staff knew we had booked through Expedia, they changed our room number. We thought nothing of it until we got to the room and realized the fan was broken on the A/C and the shower was broken. Coincidence? We still paid way too much for this hotel. If all other hotels are booked in the area and you're desperate, that would be the only way I could recommend this hotel.

The stay was pleasant except for the very expensive Continental Breakfast. You paid for everything. I asked for two glasses of orange juice and it cost me $11.98.

Dear Guests... Thank you for taking time to share your comments. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us in spite of the expensive breakfast. We plan on changing up our breakfast to offer a larger variety of items on our continental side and I think we have to also look at the juice prices... that's a bit steep. Please don't let that stop you from returning for another visit. We would love to serve you again. THANKS! gm

Holiday Inn, Key Largo, Fl

Posted Mar 10, 2016
Pros: They only nice thing was most of the staff nice and friendly.
Cons: Everything very dated. Water pressure horrible if you have long hair. Shouldn't be called a resort. Didn't feel that at all.
Very disappointed. This by far was the worst Holiday Inn we have ever stayed at. Definitely not a resort type experience. The room was very dated. There was a charity fundraiser going on right in front of our room. No parking, tents for the fundraiser setup everywhere. When guests are paying over $300 dollars a night, a "resort," is not the place for your fundraiser. Try a school or park. The people with the charity where rude to say the least. Nothing was even close to what we where told we would be getting. If you where paying $100 a night maybe for a quick rest maybe. NOT A RESORT!!!!

Dear Guests... Thank you for sharing your comments. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. The event was a charitable function for MS. We are proud to host this event annually as it's for a great cause. Our property may be a bit older but everything is well maintained and clean. Quite a few reviewers refer to us as a resort for many reasons. We have loads of waters sport activities available from fishing to sunset cruises. There are restaurants and entertainment available and there is a coupe great pools to enjoy. We appreciate the feedback. THANKS! gm

Key Largo Disappointment

Posted Mar 4, 2016
Pros: It was near the glass bottom boat and there was a great restaurant within 2 miles driving time called the Fish House.
Cons: IMPROVE the attitude of your staff!
Location: Glass bottom boat excursion was awesome. Fish House Restaurant was outstanding!
I did not feel welcomed by the gum chewing staff at this hotel. While checking in there were no smiles or feelings of welcome that you would expect when checking into a hotel. We were on the first floor, but I don't understand why they have bushes growing in front of the row of rooms on the first floor because you are forced to walk pulling your luggage to find an opening to get to your room or cut through the bushes. The room was dated and showed signs of wear. The bathroom needs some attention, the caulk needs to be changed because it appears dinged and dirty. The one good point that this hotel does have is that the glass bottom boat tour is right next door. You can book your tickets at the hotel and you are given a 10% discount. At check-out I was processed through the system, when I asked for a receipt, the glum kid told me that there was no receipt because I paid online. It appears that there are not many hotels selections in Key Largo and you may have to pay a bit more if you choose to stay in Key Largo.

Dear Guests... Thank you for your feedback. Staff attitude is not something that we receive complaints on often.. but I can assure you I will share your comments with them. There is a need to remind the staff from time to time that they are here because our guests are here. There should be no chewing gum anywhere in the presence of our guests. We're you enjoyed the glass bottom boat. THANKS! gm

Key Largo Holiday Inn

Posted Mar 1, 2016 on Hotels
Went to Key Largo last week for a winter vacation. As most other reviewers have stated, although the hotel is older, the rooms and grounds are spotlessly clean. Pools and tiki bar area were great, no fighting for chairs or seeing towels on chairs. The hotel looks out over a marina so lots of places to sit and watch or walk and explore. Dunkin Donuts right beside hotel and Starbucks across the street. Family Dollar within walking distance to purchase incidentals. Lots of free parking. After comparing prices for the week, Holiday Inn was the best value. My daughter and I loved the entertainment, food and the lit tiki torches at the Tiki Bar after being out all day.
