Cool place to stay

Posted Sep 29, 2013
You need to be a camper if you like this idea. We rode down on Motercycles and had a blast. Parking was a little tough but it was worth it to be so close to Duval. Slept 4 no problem but showers on board a little to small for my 6'2" frame so we used the marina showers. Capt Albert the owner was very eazy to reach and very accommodating.

We do have a great location and you are correct we have marina shower. This is an outdoor type of activity combined with a place to stay and charter a sailing excursion now is optional. Our boats have six foot two headroom but we know families like to stay on board our larger vessel Wild Thing. Please come back someday and visit with us again.

Can't get closer to the water !!

Posted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: Staying on a boat was a great alternative to a hotel room.
Location: The marina is great, a lot of places to eat and enjoy a drink. Short walk to Front St. and Sunset Celebration.
We stayed on the 37 foot Obsession and it was perfect for two people. Albert and Susan were great; very helpful and had many recommendations for things to do and places to go and see. Also had a great sunset sail with Capt. Brian. Great birthday weekend for my wife!!

Hope you come back and celebrate our 20th years with us in business since 1995. Ask about our larger boat Wild Thing. Make a special note that you are returning guests and we will add more sailing time. Thank you for your positive comments.

Unsanitary, repulsive and very dirty conditions

Posted Nov 17, 2009
I was most bothered that we paid a premier price for staying in a place without indoor plumbing. The restroom was unusable because we had to pump out the urine and pump in water every time we used the tiny toilet. The kitchen was filthy. The draws were full of junk left by previous visitors. There were zero amenities: no water, no soap, and no flush toilets. It was expensive camping; a premier price for an outhouse, middle of the night walks to the drunk-haunted public restroom one block away, and a miserable experience. Basically, we rented a dirty kitchen and very smelly and unusable restrooms in the middle of busy pier filled with drunken people and loud music throughout the night.

EXPEDIA should remove this comment as we do have indoor plumbing and a holding tank with plumbed water from the docks. Unfortunately it seems we did not have a chance to talk to these guests. We have looked through our notes and never found who CRANKIE was? We have updated the interiors on the boats and hope that they give us another opportunity to one day explain what a boat lifestyle is and how it works! thank you

A unique experiance

Posted Apr 23, 2009
The boat is positivily relaxing...however, you only have the sounds of the bay and a radio. Not for the more pampered lifesttyles because you are far from that. I.E. no shower or tv. But the sails are beatiful and there is always something going on throughout the day in the marina. The crew was absolutly polite and we are thankful that they made our experiance very pleasant.

Thanks for some positive comments; we are in a historic marina and do actually go out to sea more than at the dock! we are more for the recreational vehicle on the water life style. But come back and spend some de frag time with us again; we made a few upgrades and want to welcome you back.

Key West Sailing Adventures

Posted Mar 18, 2009
Had a fantastic weekend in Key West aboard "Obsession", our private 37ft O'Day sailboat in Key West harbor. The location is great, everything within walking distance to the boat, great food, shopping and of course Duvall Street. Slept like a baby with the cool ocean brezzes and the gentle rockin' of the boat at night. The people in the marina are very nice and you actually get to feel like a local while enjoyin' "the best" of Key West. Thanks Captain Albert, we will definately be back!

Great experience!

I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to relax and spending some time on the water. The boat was very comfortable with acceptable amenities. The location was awesome with everything within walking distance. Parking was somewhat an issue, but what do you expect when you are on a tiny island. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent Key West Experience

Posted Mar 29, 2008
Having been to the Keys numerous times over the years, I can say without a doubt that our stay here was the best. The marina is in a great location, with a good market and several good restaurants nearby. There are some inconveniences, like space, that go along with staying on a boat. But the overall experience is worth it. Waking up in the morning, walking over the docks, grabbing a coffee, and chatting with other boaters makes for an excellent start to the day that can't be had at other lodgings.

New Year At Its Best.....!!!!

Posted Feb 11, 2008
My wife`s first time on the Keys, and wow what an experience.....You can stay in a hotel anywhere, but you can not stay on the water anywhere... if you come to the Keys and want to see the REAL Keys, with REAL people and REAL life, this is the palce to be. Do not expect a 5 star room, but you will get a 5 star experience. Have fun, we did, and will be back soon.

Very enjoyable

Posted Jan 24, 2008
This was perfect for us. Staying at a major chain hotel gives you the sense that you could be anywhere. I looked forward to sailing and the 1/2 day sail was very relaxing. I think the captain wanted to cut it short but when I told him I wanted to stay out for the sunset there was no hesitation. It is a boat. It is not an expansive suit. For what it was, it was great. I would do this again without hesitation. I am one who also would rather seek a B&B than a chain hotel. A public shower was available. restricted to marina occupants was clean and very satisfactory.

Great location but worn out

Posted Jan 3, 2008
Fun to stay on a boat with a great location and nice to go on a sailing trip, but the boat is worn out and to many things aren't working. Futhermore the complimentary items weren't provided. To expensive for what you get.
