Nice village, nice areaPosted Jul 27, 2015
Clean. Bathroom small, but comfy otherwise. Definitely mountain area. Good location. Beds are comfortable. Wi-Fi was nonexistent.

Nice hotel in need of a few upgradesPosted Jul 16, 2015
The resort and grounds were beautiful. 2 pools with one having a great kiddie section and a lazy river. However, the water was not heated, half the games in the game room did not work, the closest ATM was 30 minutes away, and the power went out twice in one day with no generators for backup. Also, there was no fridge in the room.

Family Friendly ResortPosted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location! Fontana is a fairly remote area in the Smoky Mountains! Not all that easy to get to but worth the drive.
Cons: Our room was showing its age. The bathroom was updated but one piece of furniture was broken and the frame around the 90's era TV was cracked.
Location: The resort is located in SW North Carolina near the Fontana Dam and Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Bryson City is about 40 minutes away.
Fontana Resort is the kind of place that makes you want to slow down. There are activities from swimming, putt putt golfing, softball, game room, fishing, and hiking to testing out the numerous world famous drives in the area including the 'Tail of the Dragon' and the Cherohala Highway. While we were only there for one night, we had lots of fun and were able to enjoy the area and many of the resort's amenities.

Old, outdated and simple hotelPosted Jul 1, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed one night in the hotel alone - it was the only hotel available for many miles. Hotel is old, outdated and very simple. It was clean though. Breakfast was 10 USD and that was even on the high side considering how simple the breakfast was. I would not stay there again.

Nice but older hotelPosted Jun 23, 2015
Cons: A/C requires maintenance. Better job cleaning the bathroom.
The hotel was easy to get in and out of. The room was nice and clean but the bathroom was not so clean. Very noisy A/C.

Close to The Dragon!Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Lazy River
Cons: Prices for mixed drinks on the menu and an updated a/c unit
We stayed here one night while my girlfriend rode her motorcycle on The Dragon. Check in and check out were smooth with no issues. Parking is a little tight with a trailer but we managed. The scenery was beautiful and it was very quiet. The room was adequate in cleanliness and size. Our main issue was the wall a/c unit was extremely loud. It kept cutting on and off. I couldn't get the temperature regulated so it turned on and off all night. That is probably my fault for not setting it correctly but it is a concern for being able to sleep soundly. The restaurants were nice. The mixed drinks were pricey. Be sure to ask how much before ordering. Our favorite part was the Lazy River. We played there for over an hour. We would stay here again.
