Did not live up to expectations

Posted Aug 6, 2015
Pros: Staff seemed nice enough
Cons: Attention to details which could have improved the "big picture". We also think that the food was not properly handled in the breakfast area.
Location: We stayed at this location due to its location near Estes Park.
From the building design to the poorly kept room, we were disappointed with this Residence Inn location. We did not know that the hotel was set up in separate buildings. We prefer for the hotel to be housed in a single location. In addition, our room was not the cleanest and it showed age. The carpet frayed where it transitioned to different flooring (3-5" shreds of unraveled carpet fibers) and there were stains on the cushion of the sleeper sofa (which we discovered was turned that it wasn't immediately visible). Additionally, the kitchen in the unit wasn't as clean as it could have been. Lastly, we didn't think that the food was handled appropriately in the breakfast area. We witnessed some practices that were questionable. Although some of these things seem minor, it was the fact that there were many noticeable things that could have easily been fixed. It was disappointing as we've stayed at other Residence Inn locations and this one did not compare.

Would not recommend.

The staff was very pleasant, but room cleanliness was a big problem. The first room we were assigned has a heavy odor. We asked for a different room, and we were promptly and courteously moved to a new room. The new room; however, left much to be desired. There was hair all over the bathroom. It was in the tub, on the floor, in the corners, on the outside of the toilet. There was also hair on the bed. The tub also had filth in it that appeared to be a result of a poorly draining tub. Additionally, when I got in the bed, there was a broken piece of plastic under the covers. I let the front desk staff know about the issues, and they offered to give us additional rewards points.

Nice clean rooms. Plenty of space.

Pros: There was plenty of space in the room.
Needed a nice two bedroom suite to stay in. The room was more than I expected. There will be more trips in the future. This is definitely a place we will stay at more often.

Outstanding Staff

Posted Apr 8, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed at the Residence Inn Fort Collins for Spring Break, and were extremely happy with the service. We started in a one bedroom room but found that my two children were unhappy on the pull out couch, so the desk staff smoothly transferred us to a two bedroom, which was spacious and comfortable. The hotel was undergoing renovations, so was a little rough around the edges, but this was more than made up for by the outstanding employees. From the manager to the maintenance crew, every staff member went out of their way to make us feel at home. Everyone was especially kind to my children, who loved it there so much that they drew pictures and cried when we left.

Home away from home

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Window seals were cracked in our room and let some cool air from outside in.
Location: Close to some great places to eat.
Very friendly and helpful staff. One of the best stays I have ever had. Great breakfast options. Staff left me some extra conditioner at the front desk to get when I checked in and checked with me the next day to make sure I received them. very courteous.

Best front desk staff ever plus great amenities

Posted Dec 27, 2014 on Hotels
Got this 1 bedroom suite at a good rate for a little getaway with my kiddos. The room was large with a kitchenette including a full size fridge and dishwasher. We wanted to bake cookies but did not have an oven in our unit. When I asked the front desk about having an oven anywhere on site they gave me a key to a vacant room close to ours with an oven and let us use it at our leisure. The front desk staff was incredible and made sure we had everything we needed. The pull out was large enough to sleep my 6 year old twins and the king size bed in the room was super comfy. The hotel's breakfast was better than most and the hot tub and indoor pool were a welcome sight for the kids and myself. They also have a workout facility with high end equipment and a view of the pool so I could workout and watch while my kids swam. We enjoyed our stay so much that my kids took the cookies we made down to the front desk for the staff. While this hotel is a little pricey for my budget at full price, it is worth every penny and I will always look to see if there are deals here when looking for a plae to stay. This hotel would be fantastic if traveling on business or staying for an extended time period.
