Perfect location, close to town and the highways

Pros: The rate is excellent through Expedia
Great friendly staff. Restaurant on sire with deck over looking the City and the harbor. Pool is large enough. Very quiet and great views.

Lovely staff but speak little to no English. Bed can use an upgrade. Air conditioning system is great. The breakfast is ok. I would recommend that you have a car if you were to stay at this hotel. Walk into town is to far . But over all I'd enjoy my stay.

Hotel with a pool, in Fort de France

Pros: Comfort. The pool. Friendly staff on the reception desk.
Cons: The choice of wines at the bar.
Location: Within walking distance of Fort de France. From Fort de France you could get a bus to the beautiful Jardins de Balata for 2 Euros.
We stayed 3 days at Karibea Squash hotel. The hotel was comfortable, and good value for money. The breakfasts were very good, with a selection of eggs, sausage, bacon, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit etc. It was a short walk into Fort de France. We took a taxi ride to the Musee de Paget, the home of Josephine (wife of Napoleon), and Diamond Head, to see the statues of the slaves. The taxi driver Jean-Paul was amazing. The first two nights we ate at the hotel, which was OK, but on the last night we found an amazing restaurant called the Favela, just a short walk from the hotel. Fortunately we booked, as we wouldn't have got a table. The staff there were wonderful, and the food was good and plentiful. Wish we'd found it the first night.

close enough to town to walk, but quiet, on a hill

Pros: just what I was looking for - quiet rest, being cared for with consideration, exotic feeling
Cons: elevator in Hibiscus building, clearer information on restaurant-opening times
Location: located near town but not in it; I didn't want to do anything but relax and it was perfect for that. I went nowhere touristy and took no pictures
Room plain but comfortable, roomy, and clean; beautiful view of the bay out my window, powerful air conditioner kept me cool. good food in restaurant and bountiful fresh breakfast buffet; helpful staff did their best to cope with my non-French; computer for guest use in the lobby. Cab fare about 30 euros from airport, 8-10 to town if you don't want to walk the hills. Fort-de-France small, crowded, noisy, always full of goings-on; big stores (along the lines of WalMart) as well as minuscule boutiques and tiny-box stores.

Don't do it

I booked four nights and only stayed for one. I've NEVER done that. The staff was pleasant. But the hotel is awful. It's far away from the town. The rooms are ugly...bare lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling. The bathroom had chipped tiles and the shower stall was TINY. The restaurant only served buffet the night I was there and it was pricey for what you got--very limited selection, and the food was average. The tv in the room did not work. Eventually, I realized that there was a loose connection somewhere, and even when I fixed it, there was static. The infinity pool is tiny as is the pool area. There is a fence surrounding the pool that limits the surrounding area to about 4'. The lounge chairs provided can only be arranged parallel to the pool. It is impossible to place them perpendicular, as is the norm. I do not like leaving a bad review, but I'd hate to have others deal with this place. I want to emphasize that the staff was great, but the location, the rooms, the pool, and the restaurant, were awful.
