It’s hard to get a hotel room in Ft. Lauderdale for under $400 anywhere near the ocean, which is why we booked this hotel. With that said:
1. Check-in was a nightmare. All sorts of people complaining, and when it was our turn the man at the desk told me he was having trouble finding a room that was ready. It was 6 and check-in was at 4. The line to check-in was nearly a half hour long.
2. The towels in the bathroom were like sandpaper, more of what you would expect at a Hotel 6 or a typical cheap hotel off the highway.
3. Our room was located two elevators away, across a skywalk, and then down another floor. None of this was explained at the front desk. It was truly an adventure.
4. The carpet in the room and the hallways was dirty and clearly hadn’t been vacuumed in days.
5. The people at the valet were nice, but our car was returned to us after the first night with a big crack on the window. When I looked across the street at where they parked it and the homeless drug as it’s roaming the streets, it was obvious that someone threw something at our car the night before.
So, all in all, I guess we should have spent a few hundred dollars more if we wanted to stay in that area. We won’t return, and if you stay there understand what you are in for.
