Pricey with no reason

Posted Aug 22, 2016
Pros: Clean rooms
Hotel under remodeling , construction workers all over.No bars (one in main building open only on Friday and Saturday, closed for remodeling) no restaurant in hotel , no palce to have a drink or eat except Tiki Bar by the pool. Large black coffee $5.35 !!! Lemonade $6.00 !!! Beer $9.50 !!! all that in Tiki Bar . Parking $30.00 per day. Two elevators , one is not working at all, other works few hrs. a day. Only 8 Ocean view rooms The one that we had was sold to us as Ocean view, anywhere else room like that would be partial ocean view.

Nice hotel on the beach

Posted Aug 15, 2016
Pros: Atmosphere, staff, great views, access to everything
Cons: Labeling of the beds as 'Queen' size when they aren't. Food/alcohol pricing a little high
The hotel staff were wonderful throughout our stay. There were a couple of things that could have been better, but it wasn't terrible by any means. They are in the process of renovation for the entire hotel, so that's always a good thing, but only AFTER it's complete. There was only 1 working elevator that sometimes caused a problem, but it wasn't that bad. The real problem is the fact that you are allowed to book a room that specified 2 'Queen' size beds in them. I don't know who this falls on, Expedia or the hotel. The beds were Full size. The front desk folks said they were a 'little bigger' than Full size...but they definitely weren't. The fact you book a certain size, for a certain reason should be enough explanation. There wasn't anything they could do, as the beds are what they are. We took it in stride. It was annoying however as my wife and I are both over 6' tall......but our 2 children were comfy and that's all that mattered. Food was good, but pricey. Same with the alcoholic beverages. But they were basically in line with everywhere else we've stayed in Ft. Lauderdale. The Westin had better drink deals however. The fact that you can't bring your own drinks is troubling. They had security guards hawking over every entrance/exit to the pool and beach. Even though I bought plenty of drinks at the bar....$7 is expensive for a beer. It would have been nice to have a $1.50 one from time to time.

Disappointed

Posted Aug 4, 2016
The website is very deceiving... the room looks out dated and everything closes early. The food wasn't so great either.

Beautiful views, close to cruise port

Over priced facility with Fees for everything. I would stay again with a great deal and park somewhere else, and not buy drinks from outside bar$$$$$$$$$$$

The other hotel without a ocean view

Posted Jul 30, 2016
When we checked they had construction workers workers working late at night. We couldn't hear what the people at the front desk we're saying because of the noise. They want to stick you with these hidden prices for parking, for extra towels, the water that was in your room. The rooms we're so small that you can stretch like you want without hitting somebody. I'm thinking we're getting a room with a ocean view it turns out that we got a room across the street from the main hotel. I called the front desk to cancel my reservation, they wanted me to come and look at one of there sweets but when we got to the front desk they checked and didn't have any rooms available. So my advice to you read the fine print before booking this hotel and do your homework on it too.

Nice hotel close to the beach.

Posted Jul 24, 2016
Very nice hotel but doing reconstruction to the hotel as well. We stayed on the 11th floor beautiful view. The only thing that really frustrated me was they only had one elevator working. Over all it was a nice romantic getaway.

Under construction

Posted Jul 21, 2016
I was unaware that this hotel was under construction. Main restaurant and coffee shop were closed. Inside bar was barely open. One pool was closed as well as the skywalk to our building which meant you had to continually cross the Main Street you also had to walk in the street during the day as the sidewalk was closed. I've been going to this hotel for over 15 years back when it was the Sheraton Yankee clipper. As well as when it changes over to the "B". I must say it was a disappointment this year. Had I known that this was under construction I would have booked a different hotel

We are sorry for your disappointment with our hotel. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to transform our resort into a modern, beachfront property with expanded meeting space, renovated guest rooms and the addition of two spa suites by Aveda. We hope you will choose to return.

We loved being close to the beach

Posted Jul 20, 2016
Pros: The people working there and its proximity to the beach.
Cons: They have a lot of construction now. It will be more pleasant to visit when the construction is finished.
Location: We went to Disneyworld and had the time of our lives!
We loved being close to the beach and the staff was very helpful. Especially Adler Pierre at the beach, Charlie at the front desk, and Tina helped us with our excursions.
