Good hotel, convenient location, great staff

Posted Feb 24, 2017
Pros: Location, kitchen facilities, friendly staff, parking access
Cons: The breakfast
I have stayed here quite a number of times. The location is convenient and having a kitchen makes a longer stay for work so much more convenient. The staff here, especially the girls at the front desk are especially helpful and friendly. I recommend staying here.

Get what you pay for I guess.

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Pros: Proximity to place I need to work.
Shower curtain for closet door. Kitchen available but no glasses, plates or anything else in room - have to call desk if needed and then takes forever to get. Walls are paperthin - heard more in the room next door than I ever cared to.

Nasty

Posted Feb 12, 2017
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: Everything.
Location: Stay at any other hotel than this one.
Room was filthy. Upon entering, shoes made smacking noises, sticking to the floor. Gooey dirt in corners of the floor. Strange stink pervaded, so immediately opened the windows. One plus, the two windows opened. Checked for bedbugs, didn't find any, but found curly black hairs in the sheets and could see the bedclothes had not been changed since body impressions remained in the bed sheets. Knew within one minute this would not do. Immediately got on the phone and found a room at the Renaissance across the street for cheaper, and three stars better. Would never set foot in this place again. Staff was too young and inexperienced to understand our dissatisfaction. Although they were compliant with our leaving, it was obvious they didn't understand why we didn't like the room.

Tom, We apologize for the lack of detail by our housekeeping team that you describe. It is unfortunate that we could not move you to another suite to ensure your satisfaction. We will work with the team to ensure they are following the established cleaning checklists so this does not happen on your next visit back at our hotel. Thank you for sharing your comments and your rating. General Manager

Functional but overpriced ... poorly designed room

Posted Feb 8, 2017
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: Glasses, even the cheap wrapped plastic glasses, would be better than nothing
Location: Location is the only real plus for this property
Functional. Good location for cruise passengers. Overpriced for what you get.

We’re happy the central location of our hotel worked out well for your stay, but it is truly disappointing that your expectations were not met otherwise. We will share your comments with our management team to help us in future discussions regarding improvements around our hotel. It would be our hope that you would reconsider your choice and stay with us again in the future. Thank you for your review. General Manager

Convenient stay before going on a cruise.

Posted Feb 4, 2017
Pros: Convenient location to the cruise port. Friendly staff.
Cons: Pillows were not the greatest.
From the fella who picked us up at the airport to our dealings with front desk staff, our experiences were very good. There was a good restaurant close by if you wanted more than a continental breakfast & there was a great Italian restaurant next door that we went to for dinner. Our only complaint was that we didn't find the pillows very comfortable. We would certainly think of staying here again.

felt unsafe in the hotel

Posted Jan 18, 2017
Pros: the location to where i needed to be.
Cons: the bed could be more comfortable.
Location: shops nearby but i felt unsafe leaving the hotel.
i stayed for two nights in the hotel and it was a good location for where i needed to be but i didn't feel very safe here. there was a few homeless people wandering about the entrance to the hotel and it made me not want to leave the hotel alone. i also found the hotel walls very thin and as i tried to sleep each night i could hear banging and loud noises next to me in other rooms. also could smell food through the walls.

Location to Cruise Port

Posted Jan 8, 2017
Pros: Proximity to shopping and cruise port.
Cons: Provide some utensils in kitchen.
Location: Located close to the 17th Street bridge which makes it walkable to the water taxi stops, shopping, beach area and restaurants.
This hotel is located close to the Port Everglades cruise port and an easy walk to the water taxi stop and beaches. Also shopping and other amenities close by. The room was clean however the "kitchen" portion was disappointing. The kitchen is equipped with nothing. There is no utensils, water kettle or even a coffee mug in the cupboards - it is definitely self catering including bringing your own kitchen ware. After arriving very late to the hotel I was looking forward to making a cup of tea before retiring and found I could not do so as there was no mugs in the room. The 2 front office staff I encountered were very friendly. This hotel is fine for a short stay.

We appreciate you staying at Extended Stay America-Fort Lauderdale-Conv Center-CruisePort before cruising. We are happy to note that you enjoyed our Front desk service and our location close to cruise port and shopping outlets. Having said that, I would like to inform you that to ensure cleanliness of kitchenware upon check-in, brand standards require us to make these items available at the front desk rather than leaving them in the suites, and our team gladly delivers them to your suite. Your feedback is appreciated, and we will remind our front desk to communicate this more clearly going forward. It was our pleasure accommodating you, and we look forward to seeing you again! Sincerely, General Manager
