Didn't want to give happy hour specialsPosted Oct 6, 2015
Overall the hotel was goid, beautiful location. The women who checked us in was great. My major issue was that when we received a paper and phone call about happy hour at the bar we were told they stopped that 7 months ago! Then when we went to the restaurant for happy hour drinks and apps we were told the same thing! It was stated in the menu! I took a picture of it and brought it to the front desk, which he started to argue with me! How can a hilton resort nice and dime you over happy hour specials! Dissaponting.

Room with a view of an overpass and missing bagsPosted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: the location was close to the convention we were attending
When we arrived to check in we pulled in to the entryway to check in and unload our bags. The valet said he had to keep my keys which seemed strange but ok. In the lobby waiting to check in there was a musician playing so loud we had to shout with the staff trying to engage us in conversation. We got checked in and went outside to unload our luggage and the valet with our keys was nowhere to be found. Once he turned up and we were able to get into the car I unloaded all the baggage so my wife could wait near the entrance while I parked. I was gone a couple minutes and when I returned she said one of the bellman loaded the bags onto a cart and took them into the main hotel which she thought to be strange as we were given a room in the annex building, not the main hotel.I went into the entryway to look for the cart with all our luggage and it was nowhere to be seen. I had to shout over the music to the concierge and desk staff trying to locate the bags and the bellman who took them. While waiting for them to locate the MIA bellman we went up to the room, which was relatively nice and opened the shades to see a nice little balcony with a view of the overpass, not exactly the scenic views they show on their site. The bellman and luggage were finally located, he took it to another guests room by mistake. Sometime later an apology letter with a voucher for one meal at the cafe was slipped under the door. Overall very disappointing, would not stay there again.

Hotel was a little older and run down looking. Pool area was pretty nice, however.

Nice hotel with spectacular viewsPosted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: The views from our room.
Cons: I would say the check in process should be more organized, and the receptionists should be better trained to assist guests and be more courteous.
Location: The location is phenomenal. Near the Ft. Lauderdale Riverfront and the Olas Boulevard where you can find an array of restaurants and bars.
My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Marina for our wedding anniversary. We booked the Intracoastal View room and were pleasantly upgraded to the tower as courtesy of the management for our special celebration. When we arrive at the room there was a bottle of Proseco and a plate of chocolate strawberry with a very nice note from the manager wishing us a happy anniversary. This touch, this detail really made our heart melted. We had dinner at Nanking, the Asian Restaurant, and the service was excellent. I just wish I could remember the name of our waiter, excellent, always attentive and prompt to serve. The food was very tasty and the ambiance and the view of the intracost spectacular. We will definitely go back to the Hilton Marina.

30 year Anniversary WeekendPosted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: The pool and the tower rooms have nice views
Cons: Needs upgrading, lunch in the restaurant instead of outside, especially during rainy season.
Location: Not close to anything, except Walgreens. Water taxi is convenient but gets expensive if you want to use it all the time. Cabs add up quickly too.
The staff is not friendly, cordial at best. Arrived 10:00 p.m. to what was supposed to be the start of my 30th Wedding Anniversary weekend with champaign in my room and an upgrade to top floor. The top floor we did receive after reminding the night manager. He was not friendly at all!!! There was a cheese tray in our room with someone else's name on it, no champaign as promised. We told the night manager that we didn't want to take someone else's surprise, so they removed it. We even showed the manager or e-mail from a district manager about the wonderful weekend surprise she had for us, but nothing. Finally on Sunday night (our last night) we had to go down and ask if the champaign was ever going to happen (as it's my favorite) instead he sent up a bottle of wine with two glasses as if we made him do it. Disappointed is such an understatement. I am not a complaining person at all, and was very hesitant to stay at this hotel after all the negative comments, but we stayed there on our honeymoon and thought it could be special. Unfortunately, there is nothing exceptional about anything at this Hilton. If you don't care about friendly, anything special and just want a room with a nice view, stay here. Special treatment is not there specialty.
