Right on Beach, Every room facing the OceanPosted Oct 8, 2015
Pros: loved overlooking the ocean
Location: Ft Laderdale beach is a very close drive within 1-2 miles, and you could also use the local Bike rental to access Ft. Lauderdale beach
Had an amazing room on the 5th floor, overlooking the ocean, and overlooking the pool. The hotel was beautiful and the pool area was the selling point of the trip. My partner and I only stayed 2 nights and would love to stay again to use all of the amenities that the hotel had to offer. It was also nice to see that they had local artist displaying art in the lobby. it was a great touch

Surprised and DisappointedPosted Oct 7, 2015
Pros: room was great, staff was very attentive, meals portions adequate but had changed recently to a "share" menu. some beach left from erosion, but nice
Cons: charges seemed excessive but charging for ice for "on the rocks" drinks... I'm a seasoned traveler pricing is generally not an issue
Location: well located but very little at walking distance
It was excellent all the way thru until I ordered a JW Black on the rocks and found a charge for @rocks $3.00 per glass! Charging for ice?? It was hotel policy I was told.

The view and location were beautiful, and the roomPosted Sep 29, 2015
Pros: The view and everything was very clean.
Cons: The dinning staff to be much faster.
The dinning staff was extremely slow to set up our table, and our meal took a long time to be served.

Stayed here many times and will continue to do so.Posted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: Right on the beach. beach chairs and umbrellas provided. Excellent customer service.
Cons: Parking is a bit pricey but it also seems to be the going rate in the area.
Location: Some good restaurants nearby ( need car). We usually stay on the property and eat at the bar.
Location - facility- staff- all great. a wonderful time.

Gorgeous ocean views!!Posted Sep 4, 2015
I had a superb stay! Omg the property is gorgeous, loved the pool and the lazy river. It was so relaxing. The staff was great, Koray at the front desk was just super helpful. I was able to sit on my balcony and listen to the ocean. They have a lovely restaurant for dining or you could do in room dining. I wish I could have stayed longer but will definitely be returning.

Relaxing Hotel on the BeachPosted Sep 3, 2015
Parking is an issue! Be prepared to pay $30 more per day for valet as there is no self park. I was disappointed that they placed us in a room that the hallway right outside was all torn up being remodeled...they knew it was our Honeymoon! The view was awesome and the room was comfy! LOVED the balcony! The beach was full of seaweed and that was unpleasant. Loved the pool and lazy river! They need more help at this hotel because we waited over an hour for a drink by the pool! No one ever came to the beach to offer service either. They have a few issues to work on, but all in all we enjoyed our stay.

Not for the Average PersonPosted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: Beautiful hotel, excellent rooms. Lazy river was nice.
Cons: A friendlier staff + prices that are not totally "outrageous". A normal drink at the pool or beach is $16. Really???
Location: Location not near anything within walking distance - no restaurants, grocery store, any water sports, etc. A taxi or car will be needed to travel.
This is a beautiful hotel, excellent rooms, BUT, staff is not very friendly, and everything is extremely pricey. There is no complimentary coffee or anything else for that matter. You can make coffee in the room but who knows if the pots & cups are clean (ever see the 20/20 special about that)? A cup of coffee in the gift shop is $3 with no refills. Gift shop staff is very unfriendly and "stuck up". The hotel is "off the beaten" path which wouldn't be so bad, but with the extremely high prices of everything at the hotel, you have to leave the premises to find anything affordable. If you have a car, the hotel charges $30 to park the car (not per visit, per day). If you don't have a car, you have to rely on taxi's or the bus, which the taxi is expensive, and the bus is slow & dirty. Just not a good experience for the average person wanting a nice vacation - if you are rich, then you will really enjoy this hotel. My bad though, I didn't realize "resort" meant you had to be rich.

Our stay at the Grand Pelican was amazing. I couldn't be happier. The staff was so pleasant, the location was perfect and the atmosphere was so relaxing. We can't wait to come back!
