"Great hotel and great location!"
I took my boyfriend away for his birthday and chose this hotel because of its ratings and daily rate. We stayed in a private residence which had a small kitchenette. The pros of this stay was the location was great. The room was clean. The balcony and view of the ocean was spectacular. The hotel itself is lovely. The pool was wonderful and the food near the pool was pretty tasty. Cons of the hotels: While there are plates, cups, utensils, stove top, small fridge, and a microwave, there wasn't any dish detergent, no condiments, no paper towels. Some pots and pans but very little. You couldn't really cook. There is a coffee machine with only decaf coffee. Because we were staying at a private residence, there was no housekeeping, no refill on any of the coffee condiments, no additional toilet paper, no additional towels, etc. If you wanted any of the above, you would need to pay a flat fee for everything (like $1.00 for a roll of toilet papers, fee for clean towels, etc.). There was nothing in the description letting you know this so it was a bit of a surprise. And when you check in, the front desk gives you this piece of paper explaining to you that if there are any issues with the actual room itself that I would need to contact the owner. That alone is pretty ridiculous!

"average hotel "
Hotel was clean but the rooms really needed updating. Looks like they were in the process of dong that though. Accommodations were great for our family of five... Really helped to have the kitchen and the room was large so we could easily move around. Wish the balcony was nicer though because it really didn't appeal to us to sit out there and the chairs were old and rusty. Maid seemed a bit grouchy. The valet service was.... Interesting. One time they gave us the wrong set of keys. Another time a whole different truck. Yet another time they could not locate the keys. There were a couple of guys that were very nice and helpful but the others truly needed to find other jobs. Overall I would recommend the hotel since it was clean and the rooms large but the breakfast was less than appetizing.

Nice hotel with two drawbacks: Busy street has to be crossed to get to the beach and the check-in is not at the ground level.

"Not the best experience"
Our room was the last room on our floor with a small window overlooking the pool. I decided to book two nights to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. During our stay the water from both faucets where out and the toilet wouldn't flush. After we reported it we had to wait a bit for things to be fixed. This wasn't the Hard Rock experience I had hoped for. Our experience with the hard rock restaurant was overpriced fried food, no band playing however service was good. The L-Bar had a great mixologist named Jerry who did a wonderful job making drinks and help repair some of the not so nice experiences from earlier in the day. I would highly recommend having brunch at The Council Oaks restaurant its expensive but so worth it!! Coming in on a Sunday/Monday was kinda hard, no live music, limited shopping, and nothing special happening. I wrote a review on Hard Rocks website hoping for a response but nothing. Now that I am posting a review on a third party web site I expect a passive aggressive cut and paste response back by management.

"Nice hotel, close to shopping."
I had stayed at this property twice before nearly twenty years ago. While there doesn't appear to be much change other than ownership, sales seemed to be a dominant factor now, as there were sales persons cluttering the lobby to get you to attend a sales session. I noticed that my room while really nice, the master bathroom showed it's evidence of aging with the tile color and style. There was mildew on the tile in my shower stall, and hair in my jet tub. The beds were very comfortable, and presented a good sleep each night. I had a missing remote control, and I called the front desk for a replacement that I received within fifteen minutes, and also two calls from the desk to ensure that I received my remote, which I thought was good service. The staff all greeted us as we walked around the property. We took full use of our kitchen, and made breakfast. We used the oven, the dishwasher and the Cuisinart blender for our breakfast smoothies. We will be back!
