Couch was ripped up (looks like by a dog), carpet was filthy, layer of dust all around the room, toilet wasn't attached to the floor. When we arrived, the hotel didn't even know who we were, needed to wait for the owner to reach out to them, despite having booked it 2 weeks ahead of time. When I talked to the owner about a refund for it, he started cussing at me and telling me I was a liar.
Was on the phone with VRBO for 3+ hours trying to sort it out. They weren't able to help with anything. Not how I wanted to spend my 10 year anniversary.
Our original stay was supposed to be 4 nights, we only stayed one and moved to another hotel down the street. Never got the refund from the owner, so I'm disputing through my credit card. Even if I don't get the money, moving was absolutely the right decision and we enjoyed the rest of the trip.
