Pre Cruise hotel

Posted Feb 2, 2016
Pros: Cleanliness; quiet; good breakfast; location
Location: very easy walk to beach (3 minutes) and lots of little shops, bars and restaurants in the area.
Stayed only one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was very clean and good condition. also extremely quiet. The bathroom was a bit small and outdated but the rest was wonderful! and great location to walk to bars and restaurants. Also walked to the Galleria Mall (25 minutes) as well as along the beach. The cab to the Port Everglades was about 10 minutes - but the cab driver pretended not to know he should turn in at the convention center for the onboarding. Would absolutely stay here again. Very nice little courtyard and good continental (free!) breakfast. Can also take a bus from the Ritz Carlton (one block away) to the outlet mall for a day.

A Great Find

Super cute boutique hotel within walking distance of bars, restaurants and the beach. Off the main strip so it was quiet. The staff was great, beds were comfortable, room was clean, free parking, free breakfast. Had a great stay.

Relaxing and Comfortable!

Posted Nov 10, 2015 on Hotels
When we got to the hotel (about 6:00) the office was closed, so we called the number posted and nobody answered. We knew they were expecting us because they called earlier in the day to confirm our arrival time. So we took a seat in the courtyard which was very relaxing and a nice place to wait. About 15 minutes later, one of the staff showed up, apologized for not being there and checked us in. The room was very nice. Clean and tastefully decorated. It smelled fresh, with plenty of storage. The bathroom was perfect size with good water pressure in the shower. The only short coming was the tub drained slowly. The bed was firm and pillows were comfortable. The hotel is located two blocks from the beach and a short (5 minute) walk to Los Olas Blvd and all the Fort Lauderdale beach nightlife, restaurants and shopping. The water taxi stop is also close by. Yet the hotel neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. The complementary breakfast consisted of yogurt, fruit and cereal; just enough to start the day. This is not a fancy resort with pools, bars and restaurants, but it is a great place to stay for a reasonable price with a great pool (the Atlantic ocean), bars and restaurants close by.

Nice clean place.Owners are very nice & helpful. Could use an ice machine and the hot water flow was elusive, but overall a nice place.

Kim's 1950 Pleasant Historic Inn

Posted Nov 9, 2015 on Hotels
Room was simple, crisp and clean. The owners are there, enthusiastic, pleasant and charming and they have made the small hotel- motel very pleasant and enjoyable. Continental bkft is provided and is fresh, clean, orderly. You eat on outside courtyard which is pleasant. The Hispanic couple assisting them are pleasant and helpful. It is a very nice and safe location. A few doors from a lively restaurant Casablanca. Two blocks from beach. Free parking out front a plus. Four blocks from the north gate of the Lauderdale Boat Show. It is not a Ritz Carleton but a simple pleasant clean throwback to the 1950s and 60s as Lauderdale used to be. It is well run due to the attention of owners Kim and Christopher.
