Cons: Complete the renovation in progress
Hotel is undergoing renovations. Hopefully my room has not yet been renovated. - Bathroom is small and lacks privacy from room + Shower is big - No tub + Beds were comfortable - Room was clean - Furniture was worn - Wi-Fi is completely unsecured; be careful when using without a VPN connection - Several hallway lights were burned out - Carpet needed replacing

Location: location great.
That black lady who checked us in was just rude There was no point in making us stand there five minutes. The one that was there at 3pm Saturday.

Horrible staff. Don't stay here.

I only do reviews when my experience was either absolutely atrocious or incredible. This was horrible. I reserved two rooms and booked one through Expedia (three rooms total). I needed a large king room with the sofa bed to fit three of my friends. That room was selling out fast online so I opted to book it immediately, have my card be charged, and not worry about it not being available. If something had happened to the other two normal king suites, I wouldn't have been too upset. But I NEEDED this room to be booked. Anyway, low and behold, I check into the hotel and the front desk lady hardly seemed to be awake/alert or to care about her job. She told me the largest king suite that I booked had been booked "or something" by someone else and didn't really know. I began to tell her I had already been charged for it and needed that room, but she interrupted me and said "yeah, ok, so the other two rooms you have reserved... I can do one king and a room with two queen beds." Completely disregarded the fact that I had already spent money, and the fact that I had reserved two king suites. I have been raised not to make a scene, so I paid for the two rooms and went upstairs. My boyfriend immediately got on the phone with Expedia to try and remedy the problem. I got the nicest, most wonderful Expedia agent. Long story short, he was put on hold by the front desk lady for nearly an hour total, refunded my money, and gave me a coupon for future use on Expedia.

Pros: Room was clean, bed was very comfortable, breakfast was really good compared to other hotels
Cons: Light over sink did not work, other than that it was very nice hotel and I would recommend it to anyone

Looks nothing like the pictures online

When we first arrived the whole hotel smelled of weed. Almost checked out because of it. I even paid for a non smoking room. The rooms look NOTHING like they're advertised. They smell old and stuffy. Definitely overpaid for the room. The ice didn't even work on our floor even though the staff told us it did. The breakfast area is so small you can barely navigate it. The food was mediocre. You'd do better eating at the Cracker Barrel next door or somewhere else. The only good thing about the hotel is that it's close to Carowinds.

Pros: Staff was very efficient. Nothing else good to say about the hotel.
Cons: Didn't like anything. Will never stay there again.

Next door to Carowinds

Pros: Close proximity to why we were in town. The breakfast was decent.
Cons: The hotel is older--felt like the room could have been a little cleaner. There was an blob of an unknown substance next to the bed. It needed more electrical plugs--I was there with two teenagers and there weren't enough plugs to charge all of our devices. The bathroom was a strange layout--tiny room with toilet & shower and the sink was out with the beds. Not the greatest for privacy! I wouldn't stay here again because there are several other hotels next door.
