Hotel close to carowinds amusement park

the breakfast selection was nice. The front desk staff were friendly. My room didn't have a bathtub only a shower in a tiny awkward bathroom. The wifi was nice and the room was neat but I felt like it wasn't as clean as could be. It has an outdoor pool but although it's close to carowinds it is not walkable because of the busy roadway and no cross walks.

Looks clean but bed bites

Was bitten for a few pre-dawn hours by something in the bed, even though everything in the room looked clean and almost new. There were electrical problems in both rooms, which made me afraid a fire might start somewhere in that big hotel, and then I wouldn't trust any of the safety systems. First room had a defective smoke detector making a strange noise, and bare light bulbs - no shades on the lamps. Second room had a non working lamp, non working alarm clock, a dead outlet, difficult to use (and to find) light switches, and a defective air conditioner that was either on or off - too cold and no control of fan speed (which kept fluctuating annoyingly and had to be turned off to sleep). Good luck finding the switch on the one working bed lamp when you wake up. Smallest bathroom I've ever seen in the western hemisphere. The cheapest motel would have been better, except that the front desk attendant was good enough to work in a better facility.

The facility is still in the midst of construction because everything is out of order. But if you need a place to lay your head then it will work.

Nice hotel, close to Carowins Amusement Park

Cons: The pool could be bigger. A bit too small for the size of the hotel.
Hotel staff was very nice. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast they served was very good. Over all a good experience.

Dirty Hotel

Location: Carowinds was right across the street
We lost hot water 3 times during our stay. 'Nuf said

Right off I 77

Nice hotel- but it took 40 minutes to check in because of problems with Expedia's credit card.

We woke up to find ants all in our room, including in our bed. We reported the ants and they said they sprayed while we were gone. We got back late & found more ants when we awoke the next morning. Location of room was horrible. The room door was literally 3 feet from the elevator door so you heard people all night long. The bathroom was very tiny. There was only a lamp for light at the only mirror in the room. Location was great for Carowinds trip. Breakfast choices were minimal.

Staff was friendly. Took care of anything we need. We enjoyed daily breakfast. Coffee keep fresh all day was very nice. Room was clean. Hallway did have a smell. Pool area was very dirty. But overall we enjoyed our week stay. Thank you
