Sunset on Sanibel Island.
This time last year we were in one of my favourite places in America. An awesome adventure on the Sanibel Thriller - very affordable high speed boat tour around the barrier islands of Sanibel and Captiva - the Dolphins love to play in the wake . Tip : sit at the back of the boat for the best photos 🐬
#aquatrove. #saltlife #sanibel #florida #island #dolphins #summerfun #waterlust The super blood moon eclipse rises past Sanibel Light. The mecca for sea shell lovers! If you are in Florida and have a chance to visit, then this is a must see for those who collect sea shells. I cannot begin to tell you how deep the sea shells are on this island's beaches. Ding Darling The pond apple trail was alive with birds today. Mr. Anhinga put on quite the photographic show. They are just so beautiful when they are drying their wings. Pond Apple was not a disappointment today. Mother gator and 5 little babies. Oh they are just so cute and very vulnerable to predators at this stage of their life. Tarpon Bay Road Beach on Sanibel island. Perfect blue sky, sandy beaches and best of all lots and lots and lots of sea shells. Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa #lifeatexpedia Little known area for locals to hang out . Great fishing spot.

#green #osprey #raptor Lighthouse Beach in Sanibel is a great public park. Awesome shelling, swimming and sunning! Prepare for takeoff Mr. Anhinga. Beautiful afternoon pic on Pond Apple Trail. This historic lighthouse sits just yards away from a beautiful white sand beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Getting into Sanibel Island during high season (Jan- April) can be a pain since there is a toll ($6/car) and only one road in and out. The light was built in 1884 and I love how it contrasts the #blue sky! Ever wonder what a storks neck looks like up close? It is really interesting. This guy was quite photogenic today. Sanibel might be a small island, but there is plenty to do. Beautiful beaches full of shells, bike rentals, a bird watchers paradise, shopping and dining, and glorious sunsets.
#Beach #Island The tide was way out this morning and we stumbled upon this tiny octopus. After a brief photo session, he was quickly placed back into the ocean. Our local osprey likes to eat on the pole behind our condo. Today's special was fresh fish. I told you I don't like conch for breakfast and Im going to shout it to everyone I know. Noisy birds this am on our morning stroll. Shake it out Mr. Royal Tern. A large group is these beauties were waiting for better weather on Sanibel today. I love watching these birds in the surf. They are not at all intimidated and are very happy to be photographed. Sanibel is a bird watchers paradise. Pond Apple was not a disappointment today. Stork catching fish was a delight to see. As we watched, he just fished away without a concern for the people watching. Head goes in first and then the feet start pushing the fish into his mouth. Very interesting.
