Room okay but cramped

Posted Aug 5, 2015
Hotel was okay. Room was cramped but bed was comfortable. Traffic noise was loud at times from adjacent streets. The price of the room was very reasonable for the area.

Don't Stay At This Hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: Nothing. Rooms reminded me of a bad 70's movie.
Cons: Disclosure of renovations and better staff/customer relations. Should be a housekeeping staff on a staggered shift to prevent housekeeping problems.
Location: Fort St. John, BC is not a large city. The location of the hotel was irrelevant.
We were not informed about renovations prior to our arrival. Room 1 faced street and was directly under renovations. A leak in the ceiling due to the renovations led to Room 2, which faced the rear of the building and had heavy plastic on window. This led to room 3 which again face street and was two floors under renovations. Renos started at 8 am sharp. Left our room at 9:58 and removed do not disturb sign. Returned to room close to 5 pm and room not cleaned. Called front desk to have room cleaned. Was told our do not disturb sign was in place and the room wasn't cleaned and cleaners gone for the day. Was told they could send up sheets and towels and we could service room ourselves. Asked for towels. Left hotel and returned approx. 3 hours later. Still no towels. Was told they thought we were sleeping so did not enter room to drop off towels. Went to get towels, provided enough for one person. Asked for more towels, provided towels for two people and floor mats for 3 bathrooms (only one bathroom in the room). Garbage from daily cleaning of all rooms on the floor but ours was left in the hallway directly in front of the elevators for remainder of Saturday and was still there Sunday morning . Upon check out, desk clerk more concerned with telling security guard that she loved him and would see him at four than being courteous to us as we checked out. Room heat/cool was controlled by front desk. We will not stay here again and encourage others to stay elsewhere

Very overpriced for the overall quality.

Pros: Not very much. Close to the hi-way out of town.
Cons: Update entire hotel. This is a hotel for blue collar workers. Advertise it accordingly & don't expect to command top dollar for the rooms.
Location: Close to the hi-way out of town. Close to eatery's, etc.
Room was very dated & in need of repair; ie: shower, floor. Air condition/circulation fan ran continuously as the thermostat was disconnected. Front desk staff couldn't/wouldn't turn it off or down. Back entrance to hotel was a drinking area for other hotel guests. Hotel staff indicated this has happened before. Overall, would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Hot but Helpful

Hotel had a heating problem upon arrival. Other tenants on the same floor had their doors open to cool their rooms down. Front desk was more than helpful in moving me to another floor.

It was okay, I guess?

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Check in was smooth expect I was blind slides when I was told I couldn't control the room temperature I'd have to call the front desk for them to do it? So it took 3 tries and half a night to be comfortable. Its clean, the beds are comfortable, and is off the highway. Overall good but not worth the $185/ night with the discomfort and the restaurant/bar being closed.
