clean, what I expected

Posted Feb 3, 2017
Pros: Clean and tidy.
Room was clean and as represented. Don't expect much out of breakfast, but that was no surprise.

Glad room was good for you. As you mentioned, we have a modified breakfast as we await final approval form the County for our newly remodeled kitchen. We will have an ew kitchen this month.

Looks nice but disappointing.

Posted Jan 29, 2017
Pros: Easy to walk to a decent brew pub for dinner.
Cons: See above.
TV remote didn't work. Staff tried but couldn't fix. So no TV. Wet spot on carpet. Thin waalls with noisy neighbors and it smelled of a room frehener. The breakfast was cold cereal and grocery store danish. Although, the coffee was good. Not my favorite place.

Our staff is always willing and bale to assist with noisy neighbors. We do apologize for the issue with the remotes, we have plenty of replacements at hotel now.

Room nice, breakfast nonexistant

Posted Dec 19, 2016
Room was very comfy, clean & updated. Close to hwy 101. Shower was great- plenty of hot water on a cold night. However the breakfast was a total disappointment. 2 stale danish, cold coffee, cheese sticks and some bananas. We went out for breakfast.

Very happy you enjoyed the room at The Redwood. We are currently remodeling our kitchen and expect to have our expanded breakfast service by Jan 1.

Ok but not a good value

Posted Dec 18, 2016
The continental breakfast consisted of some bananas, oranges, and granola bars-- with plenty of equipment for storing hot food sitting in plain view unused. Obviously they had the capacity to offer real food but just didn't feel like it. Even just a bagel and a toaster and a packet of cream cheese would have been great, or a packet of instant oatmeal I could have made with hot water. When you've paid $90 for a night, and it's 25 degrees outside, an unpretentious hot breakfast isn't too much to ask.

We "did feel like it"... our kitchen is being remodeled so we are offering a modified continental breakfast until Jan 1. Our rates have modified to reflect this as well.

Nice, budget hotel.

Loved the lobby, pet area, and hotel style. Room was great. Easy access to Redwoods. Unfortunately we came during a kitchen renovation, so hot breakfast was not available and didn't have warning/communication until we were there. Other than that, it was a great stay.

So glad you enjoyed the property at The Redwood. We are indeed updating and remodeling our kitchen... we expect to be complete by Jan 1. We have asked Expedia to make sure to notify the guests when they make a reservation at The Redwood.

The only reason I had booked this room be a use it was in of the few with a pool and spa, though upon check in, I was told the pool was closed and there was no spa.

I am very sorry... we DO NOT have a spa or hot tub. It was removed over two years ago. The pool was down for about four days for some amazing upgrades to the system. I am sorry for this inconvenience. We will be closing the pool again the first week of December to upgrade the pool surfaces.

I am very sorry about this situation. I have reviewed with our Hotel Steward as well as staff. Please do not hesitate to point any issues out with staff so we can correct it because nobody was aware nor has seen this issue.

Glad you felt safe at The Redwood. We have added a fence and the staff walks the property often. Breakfast is a great way to start the day!
