Rooms need updating

Posted Nov 26, 2015
Pros: Staff was nice.
Cons: Everything. Wifi rooms and be able to get a printed receipt.
Location: The mall was right there. If you look down the street you can see the Wind Mills. It has subway with Gas. Nice location.
I felt bad for the staff. They were really nice younger folks trying there hardest. The facility needs updating and better wifi. If they did those 2 things it would rate better. It is a cute place just needs renovations. It was very close to highway with mall shopping.

I thought it was great!

Posted Dec 15, 2014
This is a cute older motel. If you come into it thinking it will be a newly built Marriott you will be disappointed. I loved the Victorian theme about the place and the staff was friendly and wonderful! Would stay again in a heart beat! Ignore comments about stained towels and linens. Mine were perfect! It's obvious that the whites were bleached, they are not leaving you with unwashed things. May he without permanent towel stains at home cast the first stone!

Rundown motel in need up upkeep

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: n/a
Cons: Better cleanliness, upgraded sheets/bedspreads/towels
Location: Not much to do in the immediate area other than a mall. Knoebel's Amusement Park is about 40 minutes away.
As soon as I walked into the room, I was hit with the overwhelming stench of years of cigarette smoke. Despite my run to the local convenience store and the purchase of, and subsequent use of, an entire bottle of Febreeze, the odor never went away. My clothes and luggage REEKED when I got home. Additionally, my sheets had ash in them (literally, there were cigarette ashes inside my sheets), the side table and chair were sticky with God knows what, the shower didn't drain, and the room was just overall shabby/unclean feeling.

Be Very Discerning When Considering Booking

Posted Apr 16, 2013
Pros: Close to Pottsville
Cons: The location, room decor and other guests.
Location: It was located off the main road but was hidden off to the side - hard to find in the dark.
Was not easy to find motel and while the staff were very friendly, the room was okay - it is good value for your money. The bed was comfortable and clean. However, the towels were threadbare thin and the toilet was not fully connected as it moved when you sat down. The room decor and furnishings really need to be updated and some of the other guests were quite creepy.

Great economy value

A good value for the price. Older facility and clean. Took a while for hot water to arrive, but once it arrived was adequate.

Never stay here!

Posted May 27, 2012
Pros: Leaving as quickly as possible!
Cons: The black mold and bugs.
Granny's motel was the most unhealthy place I have ever been. The carpets were wet with mold. There was black mold on the furniture and ceilings. There were bugs in the bed. The fire exits on the second floor were broken and the fire extinguishers were empty. I can't believe that this was an Expedia option and that I had to pay for a place that we could not stay.

a good value

Posted Jun 9, 2011
Hotel Review: Based on other reviews I was concerned but took the risk as noone mentioned anything terrifying. The proprieter's spoke broken English but check in went smooth enough & he even accepted a coupon we found in a flyer. Upon opening the room (#30) door we were greeted with a strong cleaner odor, very preferable to pet or worse. I left it open for about 15 minutes. The furniture & bed were outstanding for a cheap motel. Don't let the run down exterior scare you off. The AC unit produced a strong cigarette odor so I quickly turned it off. I left the bathroom exhaust fan on all night which also drowned out the highway noise. All told what could one ask for in a bargain motel? I have been disapointed in rooms for twice that sum. We plan to stay again next year.
