Check in was poor

Posted Feb 17, 2018
We got there early, but were told our room would be ready shortly. In the meantime our car remained parked on the street. 2 1/2 hr later our room was ready. The check in seemed disorganized . Car keys were just lying on the desk, and it made us nervous leaving our car. We filled out our breakfast order and put it in our door as instructed, yet never received a breakfast. The staff was nice, especially Keith. He seemed to be left alone to do several jobs. Our room was nice with very comfortable beds. When you pay a lot for a nice place to stay, you just expect things to go better than they did.

Great location and staff but...

Posted Feb 17, 2018
the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was perfect, and I could live with the low water pressure and broken dresser drawer because it is a historic building. The major draw back was the noise level in our particular room. We could hear every word spoken in the lobby, every noise from the kitchen, every footstep on the lovely, uncarpeted hallway to and from the 7 rooms beyond ours. That and the thin walls made sleeping very difficult. A room opened up towards the end of our stay but we didn't want to pack up and unpack just to pack again. The bathrooms could also use some freshening. The door needed a good scrubbing and a coat of paint. The floor grout seemed mildewy which could be fixed. Finally, toilet paper, shower gel and shampoo was not replenished. We had to ask the front desk for more every day but on our first day and our last day.

Great hotel close to all the action

Posted Feb 12, 2018
Pros: I liked the atmosphere and everyone was very helpful and polite
Cons: The only improvement for me would be the addition of vending machines at the hotel
Location: It was located near several shops and some Of our favorite restaurants
We had a great stay at this hotel it was very quaint and lots of charm

Cleanliness

Posted Feb 12, 2018
Andrew Jackson hotel was a nice small historic hotel in the middle of the French quarter. The staff was friendly but this was the only positive thing about the hotel. Not only was the bed loud and creeky, it was uncomfortable. The room in general was extremely dirty as well. The towels were dirty and had stains on them. The bathtub had a toy in it when we arrived! It was as if it was never cleaned after the guests before us. After a long weekend in New Orleans, our expectations were not high for a last minute place to stay but this was unacceptable.

Great location but....

Posted Jan 27, 2018
Pros: Locatio
Cons: Total overhaul needed.
Location: near middle of French Quarter
TINY room. Bathroom TINY, breakfast is coffee/tea, burnt (and I do mean BURNT) croissant with butter and jam. My sink was stopped up badly but they did fix that. Water pressure really wek and hot water was tepid at best.

Heart of French Qtr

Posted Jan 24, 2018
We spent MLK weekend in NOLA. Unfortunately there was a major cold snap, and it was freezing. The hotel is an old building designed to keep cool in hot weather, consequently they have drafts everywhere, so room was very cold when we entered, but once we jacked up the thermostat it was toasty. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The continental breakfast with pot of tea brought to room each morning was delightful. Hotel in heart of French Qtr with easy access to everything, and located on Royal St, where the art galleries and antique stores are. Bourbon St. one block away. We walked everywhere, rode every streetcar from beginning to end, even took bus from airport to city center. No need to drive, public transport excellent. Took ferry to Algiers and had a pint in an English Pub. Lots of restaurants near by. Very enjoyable trip.
