They saved our trip!

Posted Dec 12, 2017
We had to leave another hotel in New Orleans because our experience was so bad (no heat in our room for 3 days!). The Royal Sonesta took us in happily and then made sure we had the best treatment possible. I would go back to the hotel in a heartbeat and would look forward to seeing some of the same staff members that I grew to appreciate so well.

It was great.

Pros: Old charm. Staff were right there for you. Rooms were updated I’d stay here again
Nice stay. Lots of maintenance work on outside of building and in the street. Staff and service couldn’t be better.

Building site

Posted Dec 8, 2017
So disappointing, we arrived at the hotel and it looked like a building site. We paid extra for a balcony room but when we arrived, you couldn’t step out on the balcony because it was covered in scaffolding. We changed our room but couldn’t enjoy the balcony as the noise from the workmen was horrendous. Manager advised us that he would credit our room with a restaurant voucher as an apology so we decided to take breakfast in our room; only one meal arrived and it cost $57.00 for one sandwich. On check out the breakfast was on our bill and the receptionist advised that they had credited only our movie - $19.99. If we’d have known this we would have taken breakfast at the restaurant across the street. Room renovations on our floor, so noisy. Staff rude and very unhelpful. The worst hotel we’ve stayed in, in a very long time.

Dear Nicola, We thank you for investing the time to share this review as it helps us to discover what is most loved about our hotel and how we might have elevated the experience even further. While we are delighted that we had the opportunity to host you during your recent travels, we regret that the city improvement project taking place a few yards from our hotel so greatly impacted your stay. It is our hope that should your travels return you to the Crescent City, you will allow us the opportunity to win back your heart and restore your confidence in a more proper Royal Sonesta NOLA experience. Yours in Hospitality, Royal Sonesta New Orleans

Beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Pros: We got a balcony room which is a must if you stay here. So delightful.
Location: Construction on Bourbon street could be a distraction but for us it was not.
April at the front desk is a plus as is the entire staff. Old-fashioned service and personal attention. Simply delightful experience.

Worse hotel stay, very disappointing.

Posted Dec 4, 2017
Pros: location
Location: bars, clubs, in the center of the French quarter.
I will start by saying that I am a strong believer in "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all". The reason i chose to write this review is because of how bad my experience was, and the price of the room was not cheap. I have ordered a room with king size bed. When i went to the room, it had 2 double beds. I went back to reception, and was told that I was "upgraded" to this room. I don't understand the "upgrade" when I don't get 1 king bed as reserved. I got a new room with 1 king bed, but the next morning was woken up at 7am with construction outside my room, and people walking back and forth behind my window. I have than asked to be moved from the room. The new room was by the elevator, very noisy with every arrival by both the elevator "ding" and people. There was also lots of noise from the AC unit that was not working properly. Also-on the second day in the room, we went back at 2pm, and it was still not cleaned. When i called to ask as to when it will be cleaned, i was told: "you are requesting it to be cleaned each day?" - ahh yes. That is standard thing in a hotel, as far as i know. The hotel experience was VERY disappointing!!!

Wonderful experience to be on bourbon street. Tony from the bell staff and Patricia from the service staff were amazing and made my first trip to New Orleans a memorable one

Nice Hotel on Bourbon Street

Posted Dec 1, 2017
Pros: Everything was great. Location, food, hotel employees, the room....
Cons: Let people know about construction...
Location: It's on Bourbin Street. ...everything is nearby and if it isn't you can get shuttles to take you where you are going, or tours pick up near your loca
I wish they would have notified us that there was construction on Bourbon Street, right in front of fhe hotel . Other than that the hotel is fantastic. Our door lock battery died. The hotel staff immediately sent up a person to change the battery. The staff are helpful, happy, humorous and kind. We found the hotel to be perfect, except for the construction.

Dear Karen, From our hospitable team to our authentic and delicious cuisine, we’re delighted that you so thoroughly enjoyed your time with us, and we appreciate you sharing your positive feedback! While we did our best to let our arriving guests know about the city’s street improvement project, we regret that we aren’t provided contact information for those visitors who book through online travel agencies, and we’re sorry if this kept us from getting in touch with you. Thank you for not letting this impact your overall impression of our property; we look forward to hosting you again one day soon! Warm regards, Royal Sonesta New Orleans

The staff was superior - namely Leslie at the front desk, and Mark and Tony with the bell staff. Our dinner at Revolution was the best meal of the week. The only inconvenience was the construction issues on Bourbon St., but that had nothing to do with the hotel.

Dear Guest, While our visitors often rave about our central French Quarter location and tranquil tropical courtyard, it’s truly the hospitality of our team members that sets us apart from other hotels, and we appreciate you highlighting our hospitality in your review. As you’ve discovered, dinner in Restaurant R’evolution is a special treat, and we hope it won’t be your last time to indulge in our delicious cuisine! Best regards, Royal Sonesta New Orleans
