Make sure the beach renovations are finished!

Although there are several Barcelo hotels in the resort, Barcelo Castillo Royal Level is not a further hotel but the premium service at Barcelo Castillo. This we only discovered by queuing at reception for fifteen minutes to be directed across to the empty premium desk where we were duly provided with cold drinks and shown to our suite. The Junior Suite is pleasant and well equipped though not luxurious. Facilities included a well stocked fridge, kitchen equipment, two televisions and a hot tub, though this we couldn't use due to a very slow supply of tepid water.
At 7 a.m. we were awakened by an ear-splitting shrieking noise that, on pulling back the curtains, was revealed as a bulldozer smoothing the sand on the beach being renovated right outside the hotel. This happened every morning (except Sunday) and continued until well into the evening. Why the machine was so noisy and had to start so early we never discovered.
Resort facilities are (or will be!) good with plenty of activities, a reasonable premium restaurant and several swimming pools. Loud music (possibly to drown the bulldozer!) by the main pool drove us away to a designated premium pool but here one had to contend with the noise of drills and hammers as some of the surrounding apartments are completed.

Regarding the works on the beach unfortunately they do not come from the hotel.
