Very nice hotel with its own beach

Lovely hotel, great staff, on beach front.

We had a really lovely short break at this hotel. The junior suite had everything you could need and more. Excellent birthday pressie from my husband, fantastic choice.

Premier treatment

Excellent staff and service in the premier restraint.This service and food was 5 star however the other restraint was not what l would call 3 star l guess you get what you pay for.Again with our room it was excellent however if you haven't children pay the extra!

Had a very relaxing and enjoyable time in the hotel, staff were very friendly. Caleta is a relaxing place but also has lots of things to do to keep all ages happy.

Make sure the beach renovations are finished!

Pros: Lush tropical gardens and layout of low-rise buildings.
Cons: Noise! Service in the restaurant was inconsistent. Reception was not very welcoming with much information hidden away round the back. Drinks expensive
Location: The least interesting of the four Canaries we have visited with little to do beyond the man-made resort area. Mostly warm and sunny but very windy.
Although there are several Barcelo hotels in the resort, Barcelo Castillo Royal Level is not a further hotel but the premium service at Barcelo Castillo. This we only discovered by queuing at reception for fifteen minutes to be directed across to the empty premium desk where we were duly provided with cold drinks and shown to our suite. The Junior Suite is pleasant and well equipped though not luxurious. Facilities included a well stocked fridge, kitchen equipment, two televisions and a hot tub, though this we couldn't use due to a very slow supply of tepid water. At 7 a.m. we were awakened by an ear-splitting shrieking noise that, on pulling back the curtains, was revealed as a bulldozer smoothing the sand on the beach being renovated right outside the hotel. This happened every morning (except Sunday) and continued until well into the evening. Why the machine was so noisy and had to start so early we never discovered. Resort facilities are (or will be!) good with plenty of activities, a reasonable premium restaurant and several swimming pools. Loud music (possibly to drown the bulldozer!) by the main pool drove us away to a designated premium pool but here one had to contend with the noise of drills and hammers as some of the surrounding apartments are completed.

would recommend, if you have the royal level

a few problems at check-in, room was like a one bedroom flat (but a bit plain), breakfast in main buffet was OK but dinner was not good, breakfast and dinner in the "special" separate buffet was much better, the marina area belonging to the hotel was very nice, beach was closed for extension works, long walk to gym, thalasso spa closed for extension works, staff were good

Exclusive Resort Feeling

Pros: We were treated extremely well. Rooms were clean. Hotel was within walking distance of a small town and some really nice bars
Cons: Nothing we could think of
Location: Lots of water sports, also quad bikes were available also a small water nature park where you could buy food for the fish. There were also sea lions.
We stayed in an area of hotel complex that you needed key card access to. This was the 'premier' area. It had a private pool with only guest access in this area. It had a pool bar and lifeguard. The entire area was very clean. The room fridge had a range of complimentary drinks and a plate of fruit. The only charge was if you wanted more. We were half board which was more than enough for us. We had meals in a separate restaurant reserved for 'premier' guests. If you ate at any other restaurants on the resort you got a 30% discount.

Really nice hotel but let down by the dribble of the cold shower. Complained daily but was only fixed on the penultimate day.
