Stayed at R2 Rio Calma in Nov 21. Hotel is OKish, elegant Moorish exterior but rooms would benefit from a makeover. Food was buffet and can only say average. However pools and especially the grounds were really attractive. Hotel is approx a kilometre from main sandy beech.

Super Sport Facilities & Service.
We really Enjoyed the stay, fantastic facilities, service and location with beautiful swimming pool, and sporting facilities. We could even enjoy some live entertainment in the bar. We would definitely stay here again and really recommend the Hotel in Costa Calma!!

Great pool, terrible beds
Overall, the hotel is good. The only issue I have is the beds. These are the most uncomfortable beds and pillows I have had in any country, and so far travelled to just under 50 countries. So for them to be the most uncomfortable is quite an achievement. The pillows were like bricks and the bed was just as hard. Also the sheets on the double bed seemed to be 2 single sheets overlapping in the centre of the bed. Quite bizarre. That said, the pool area was first class and the buffet food was also good. Restaurant staff very helpful and efficient. Overall great to stay there, but as you are driving from the airport, do yourself a favour, stop at IKEA and buy yourself some pillows.

We have been to Rio Calma many times before, this year the evening entertainment had greatly improved (at least 4 out of the 6 acts were good, whereas they used to be all fairly dreadful!) The swimming pool has new tiling. We had 2 reasons to ask reception for assistance with room queries and they were dealt with quickly and without issue. No fight for sunbeds, unusual (literally NO towels down early in the morning!!), but the whole resort was very quiet first week of June, not just this hotel. Hardly any English tourists, but we quite like that!

Good, not great
The hotel was fairly nice, but a bit old and could do with a refurbishment in places. Bed was quite hard and the shower was very dark. You have to pay extra for everything. €1/day for WiFi, €10 deposit per pool towel, €10/day for spa entrance. breakfast buffet was good and had a nice selection. Very touristy location. Parking wasn't much of a problem, but there's only one entrance, so you have to walk a long way if you're unlucky with where the parking space is.

An impressive building in a good seaside location.
My first time in a big Hotel. Unluckily the disco was two floors below our bedroom so noisy. On two nights after midnight kept awake by loud talking below our window. The gardens and swimming pools were beautiful. The food offered lots of choice. Excellent breakfast.

After a long wait to book in, and difficulty in finding our room in this enormous hotel, we warmed to the otherwise excellent place Good food - super swimming pools and other amenities Lovely climate with the sea warm enough to swim in Only gripe is that our room was not cleaned on our last full day and that sewge is used to irrigate gardens

We have been to Costa Calma many times, well into double figures now and in our opinion this is the best of the hotels in the resort although it is detached ( a hillly 3/4 mile from the main resort). if you want a quiet, well equipped hotel this is ideal. Well designed, feels like an old village rather than an hotel.

Este alojamiento está muy bien si quieres quedarte en el hotel no hay playa para encontrar la playa bonita hay que andar 2km 500 ida y mismo para vuelta y hay que pagar hamaca en mal playa pública 10 euros con sombrilla..El hotel hace todo para que consume dentro es por aro su localisation ..Se paga para todo caja fuerte 4 euros por día , cambio de toalla de piscina 1 euro cada cambio , wifi 1 euro por día y no funciona bien fuera del habitación ,la comida está bien por el desayuno pero así así por la cena..Hay que notar que el bonito de este hotel es su architectura y sus jardines y árboles y fuente que son perfectos ..La isolation del hotel no es buena mucho ruido a la mañana con la limpieza y movimiento de los muebles ..Otra cosas que hay que añadir vista al mar no enfrente eso es que l’habitation ensenada no es la misma para mí engañoso ..Otra cosas inadmisible no se puede facturar agua filtrada a 2euros 15 es una obligación de dar vaso de agua gratis !!!Otro tema el pago por bracelete hay que chequear muy bien eso y hay que pedir la impression del gasto del bracelete ..porque no dan ticket y se descubre la cuenta al final entonces aconsejó a los huésped de verificar cada día su consumo sino sorpresa al final !!!Otra cosa hay mucha habitaciones con una discoteca enorme abajo no se como la gente aguanta esto además es la vista más bonita al mar porque enfrente !!Yo quiero decir que para mí el personal del restaurante y buffet es muy sympatico y probar de ayudar cada vez

Tolle Anlage mit sehr schönem Garten. Zimmer sauber, auch wenn die Nachbarn gleichzeitig duschen kam warmes Wasser mit ausreichend Druck :-). Toller Sandstrand ca. 1,5 km vom Hotel entfernt. 2 sehr schöne große Außenpools. Auswahl und Abwechslung beim Abendessen könnte etwas besser sein. Frühstück sehr gut. Leider in Einzelfällen unfreundliches Personal. Großer Minuspunkt: Sauberkeit im Restaurant: Schmutziges Geschirr (Speisereste) im Speisesaal an der Geschirrausgabe, Kaffeeränder und Zucker-Reste in den Tassen, Spülwasser-Reste in den Müslischälchen, angeschlagenes Geschirr. Rostige Getränkedose wurde mir von der Bedienung an den Tisch serviert.

Pro:Schöne Architektur,viel Platz,tolle Garten-und Platzgestalltung!Personal echt freundlich und viele können mehrere Sprachen sprechen,echt toll. Contra:Licht auf dem Balkon brannte 24 h durchgehend,tausende von Motten entsprechend überall,von Energieeffizenz und Umweltschutz wohl noch nie gehört.... Für alle in sonstigen Hotels(selbst in Ägypten)üblichen Standards muss bezahlt werden(für einen Safe soll ich bezahlen?).W-lan im Jahr 2022 gegen Gebühr???Sehr enttäuschend. Kein Wasserkocher im Zimmer(noch in keinem Hotel auf dieser Welt erlebt). Abends viel zu wenig Personal,man konnte den Stress und Druck des echt tollen Personals spüren und musste entsprechend leider recht lange auf seine Getränke warten.

Il primo check in è andato bene, quando abbiamo deciso di prolungare di due giorni il soggiorno invece le receptionist non sono state chiare e solo all ultimo momento mi hanno detto che avevo prenotato tramite Hotels.com ( solo per una persona sola ) appena prenotato ho chiesto a loro in due momenti diversi se era tutto ok la nuova prenotazione etc . Riassumendo ho dovuto pagare per quei due giorni il doppio al giorno della prima prenotazione ( sempre per due persone.) Customerservice at the desk is really lacking . Un altro problema le sdraio della piscina, chi arriva primo mette il suo asciugamano eppoi già alle 11:30 non ci sono più sdraio disponibili. Per non parlare del Wi-Fi a pagamento quasi inesistente.

Hôtel calme, excentré de Costa Calma. Une des piscines est chauffée, le lagon est toujours fermé. Dommage ! Le mini golf n’est pas entretenu. Beau jardin. Peu d’animations. Manque d’informations lors de l’arrivée et manque de signalétique pour l’accès aux ascenseurs dans cet hôtel qui est très grand. Les buffets du pdj et dîner sont variés mais il est inadmissible d’avoir à payer l’eau en demi pension : 2,15€ les 25cl. Personnel du resto très sympa. Chambres spacieuses avec balcons et baignoire. Le piano n’est pas en libre accès, dommage pour les pianistes. Le wifi est seulement gratuit dans le hall mais payant ailleurs. Grand parking gratuit à l'extérieur.

Me gustó la comodidad, la tranquilidad, habitaciones amplias y comodas, no me gustó que hay que pagar por el Wifi y la caja fuerte en las habitaciones, hay que pagar las bebidas en las comidas y la poca variedad en las comidas, otra cosa curiosa que me chocó hacían varios tipos de zumos naturales pero el de naranja era de polvos.

Wir würden dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen. Service Katastrophal..kundenfreundlich ist das nicht. Wenn Mitarbeiter den Gästen falsche Informationen mitteilt muss der Gast dafür bezahlen. Nur ein Sorry war für uns nicht ausreichend..zu mindest eine kleine Entschädigung...aber nein..nein die Aussage "da haben sie leider Pech " Sauberkeit von den Putzfrau war in der ganzen Woche ebenfalls ungenügend

On a aimé l'agencement de l'établissement, les piscines, la salle de sport, le restaurant, la chambre. Toutefois, une responsable à l'accueil est très froide. Ne donne pas envie de lui poser des questions. Nous avons été déçus par les extérieurs non éclairés, et du lagon complètement fermé et qui a été une surprise désagréable car nous avions réservé dans cet hôtel pour ce lagon. Le choix de dessert au buffet n'est pas très copieux et n'est pas à la hauteur d'un 4 étoiles. Le prix des bouteilles d'eau est exorbitant pour la quantité (2,15 euros pour 33 cl). On est bien obligé de boire de l'eau pour ce qui ne boivent pas de vins. Manque de traduction des dépliants en français. Manque d'insonorisation dans les chambres.

Me and my partner planned to come to Fuerteventura and to Rio calma for a while. It has great atmosphere and garden is beautiful. We requested room with sea view and even if it was not that direct, it was stunning nevertheless. We came for honeymoon that we had to push forward during our first baby pregnancy. One disappointment is that I mentioned in my comments that I am pregnant and my request were probably not even read, because room close to us were smoking ones and even thought specifically asked for, not so much in part of hotel that would be calm. It was not a big problem and I am not much of a complainer, but I was sorry nevertheless. They also did not made to happen simple request for additional pillow for whole week. But staff was always friendly and kind, to be honest I fell in love with Fuerteventurans a bit. But all was great when it could have been easily amazing:) Food and restaurant were very nice and there was always plenty, I enjoyed fruits and vegetables the most, but that would be fault of my condition more that warm foods would not be excellent. During rush hour it was problem to find table outside, but with amount of smoking people there I was not that eager to always sit there. I believe biggest regret of that vacation was fact that smoking in gardens and by the pool was not restricted at least to some areas and that has something to do with more benevolent policies geographically than I would prefer them to be. im Großen und Ganzen echt top
das Hotel selber ist sehr schön, vor allem im Vergleich zu vergleichbar großen Hotels, die oft nur hässliche Klötze sind. Und obwohl man nur selten einen Gärtner (o.ä.) sieht, sind der Garten und die Pflanzen sehr gepflegt! Leider war das "Strand-Pool" bei uns nicht eingelassen und somit nicht besuchbar, das war sehr schade. Bis auf Kleinigkeiten (bissl abgeschlagene Ecken hier und dort, kleine Abnutzungserscheinungen, die aber nicht wirklich stören) war es aber in Summe sehr schön. Unsere Klimaanlage fiel 2 Mal aus, wir haben das bei den wirklich netten und bemühten Rezeptionsdamen gemeldet und es wurde sofort ein Techniker zur Reparatur geschickt. Das einzige wirklich Ärgernis war, dass trotz "Reservierungsverbot" ständig alle Liegen am Pool bereits sehr früh "belegt" waren, obwohl in Summe vielleicht 5 Leute im Pool waren. Schade, dass sich gewisse Leute nicht daran halten, und dass - wenn es schon ein "Verbot" gibt - nicht ein bissl darauf geachtet wird von den Angestellten.

Hotel en su día bonito, pero con el paso de los años se ha ido deteriorando y no se hace mucho por renovarlo Alfombras desgastadas, ruidos de 16,00 a 17,00 horas machacones, de alguna maquinaria, que no dejan descansar La piscina de agua salada, que la vacían 2 veces en la misma semana Hamacas de las piscinas ya demasiado viejas Y como colofón cutres para cobrar 1 euro al día por el wifi, lamentable en estos tiempos

Quelques manques pour un hôtel 4 étoiles. Pas de wifi gratuit. Coffre payant dans la chambre. Pas de bouilloir. Sinon environnement et infracstructure très bien. Buffet pt déjeuner très bien.
